It would've been nice to have some type of dialog with your ME1 LI after the suicide mission.
I thought Ashley would've taken issue with you going through the Omega-4 Relay on a suicide mission and not even taking a minute to say goodbye for what could've been the last time. (again) We do have the sad photograph scene in your cabin before entering the relay after all.
Perhaps after visiting Anderson on the Citadel.
[Citadel - Shepard to Anderson]
Shep: Should I even bother telling the council about stopping the Collectors? And how I encountered another Reaper that was behind all of this again?
[Ashley walks in]
Ashley: Shepard!
Shep: Ash!
[Ashley walks over and slaps Shep]
Shepard: What was that for?!
Ashley: Anderson just told me that you'd gone through the Omega-4 Relay to fight the Collectors! And you didn't even say goodbye? Noone ever comes back after going through the Omega-4 Relay. Do you know how worried I was when I got the message? How could you do this?
Shepard: Ash... I thought after Horizon that you didn't want to see me...
Ashley: Don't make excuses Skipper. You almost did it to me again. I would have never forgiven you if you hadn't come back.
[Ashley hugs Shepard]
Ashley: Promise me you'll never do it again.
Shepard: No promises Ash. The Reapers are still out there.
Ashley: Then promise me you'll take me with you next time.
Shepard: I promise Ash.
That sounds like a good Idea for a mini Fan Fic...
I just wish Shepard didn't have such stupid dialogue options on Horizon

Hmm, that's good. Would work well ingame, and not just as a fanfic.

Why would I want Ashley to return to ME3? I saved her on Eden Prime and Vermire, but she still threw me under the bus on Horizon.
It was an emotional encounter. She sends you a very nice and apologetic email afterwards too.

Onto Ash topics...are people really still upset over Ash's reaction on Horizon? It has been generally accepted in this thread that her reaction was perfectly acceptable considering the emotion of the situation and the misinformation she had at the time.

So, this does not have anything to do with Ash, but I just finished reading Mass Effect: Revelation and enjoyed it a great deal. It focuses on Captain Anderson and the mission he went on with Saren. Goes into much greater detail (obviously) about things that are briefly mentioned at the beginning of ME1. Also, you learn just how much of a bastard Saren was even before he got involved with Sovereign.

To answer your question...yea there are quite a few people who are still upset over what happened on Horizon.
I was looking in on a Kaidan vs Ash thread earlier and there were quite a few people who were
"throwing her under the bus". Calling her the usual bigot and b*tch of course.
Like liam said earlier, those people just didn't take the time to fully understand Ash the way we have.
And I believe it's their loss actually.
And oh btw I read ME :Revelation...still haven't gotten around to reading Ascension yet.better get started lol.

Well, to play Devil's Advocate, how would you act towards the race/group that was the primary reason behind your brother's death?

Knowledge is power, they have less through not learning about the character?
Maybe?
Edit: ARG! Ignore what I just said. Misread what you had there as "define"...
This is what I get for checking forums at 7am.

I do not remember who said it a few pages ago but someone said that Ashley is one of the most well-defined characters in ME and feels the most like a real person when talking with her. I could not agree more. That is why I am such a bag fan of Ash and cannot wait to have her on my ship again in ME3.
I start reading Ascension tomorrow. Retribution comes out in July.

I definitely want a beer helmet for Shepard (heh, I always liked the guy who had a soda canister strapped to the back of his car's cabin in "Twister"). And a bar on the Normandy. Sgt Gardner would own the place.

Damn you, why did you have to say it, now I took a look myself... Kaidan on that drawing doesn't resemble Kaidan at all though. If I didn't know, I wouldn't have recognized him.
After Jacob (ugh!) we're happy with anything resembling an attractive male!

Liara doesn't say it. Tali doesn't say it. And neither does Miranda or Jack.

After quite a few playthroughs, I just realized one small detail I missed on my other runs. Ashley is the only female LI that ever tells Shepard that she loved him.

True... I hadn't noticed that... And Ashley seems to get more screen time than the other LI's - hell, they even give the player time to talk afterwards.
