CaseyH-ME2: While Mass Effect fans have grown to love our characters,
you can imagine that after spending years crafting them, we have at
least as much of an attachment to them. So it's definitely not a case
of the team disregarding player's decisions with them or interest in
those characters - in fact, it's the opposite...
CaseyH-ME2: We
actually want to make sure these characters survive the ME2 story,
which ultimately is a suicide mission: some of your crew will almost
certainly die. Some of the ME1 characters are back, and recruitable
(more than you might think), and the ones that aren't still play an
important role in the story and will be around for ME3 - which we can't
say for the new characters.
CaseyH-ME2: Finally, if
you are worried about the role of the ME1 love interest in the trilogy,
consider that the romance itself is told across the trilogy, in 3 acts.
Apply the 3-act concept to what's happening in your relationship with
them, and you might guess where we're going with it.

I imagine that all ME2 characters without romance option leave the team and are going to be replaced by the ME1 LI. = Everyone is happy and BW has less work to do.
But...hmm.....that might be plausible actually.....hmmm *scratches chin*
Soo...then we might have
Ashley/Kaidan
Liara
Miranda
Tali
Jacob
Thane
Jack
Garrus
Maybe...

Relax , I think miri will be fine. I think it is just the ones from ME1 that are alive are in for ME3. Like Ash/ Kaidan, and Liara.

Ya, I wouldn't freak out. Miranda is damn near impossible to kill unless you didn't do her loyalty mission.

I don't know but think this line might be, if the they are dead in your game. They aren't coming back. Cause , well,.... the would be dead. Same thing bioware was asked about what characters from ME1 would return. If they are dead, they wont.

The last part probably will be for some 2 years, right?
Every one seems to think 2 years. Good guess. I have read from bioware they are wanting a short turn around time.
Does that mean shorter amount of time? We will not know for anything for awhile.

Yeah, we don´t have to worry about Miranda. She´s an important character throughout ME2, has many fans (devs too) and was in almost every advertisment for the game. She´s about as important as Shepard I´d say. (or close to him)
Also, I want to see a Ash/Miranda catfight.

This is logical. Do not come back, because they are dead, right? Unless the project Lazarus suddenly will have more patient. But it will be stupid..

Looking forward to the conversation with ash in the play through where I romanced tali instead. Should be funny.

I hope that line is merely referring to those who died in your ME2 playthrough, which for me would be isolated to one (R.I.P. Grunt), as that would make perfect sense. But I hope everyone that got out of that suicide mission with almost everyone intact isn't penalized by the terrible commanders who got everyone killed. And I hope Bioware doesn't pull another ME2 and somehow hit the reset button on our Shepard so that all of his squad mates move on with their lives without him. As much as I trust Bioware, this is how I think things may turn out:
Shepard is put in jail for treason for his work with Cerberus. He is in jail for 2 years (or however long) and the galaxy once again moves on without him. His team mates from ME2 move on (or die in the case of Thane and Mordin), but everyone else that survived is reduced to cameos (Tali and Garrus included). Then you are released/broken out because the Reaper threat is realized as real and the galaxy needs your help to take them down. Then you can go out recruiting people like Ashley/Kaiden and Liara.
As much as I don't want the story to pan out that way, it would be the absolute easiest way for Bioware to reduce the severity of every players actions at the end of ME2 and make new players to the trilogy (whom I could care less about because you shouldn't be jumping into the final chapter of a story anyways) feel right at home

It's simply unreal, after my years on the internet I think I have actually become acclimatized to all the ranting. I'm rather shocked to see two people conversing without a single "lolz, you fail!!!" in sight. If the Kaidan thread is like this I may have to pop over there more often.Joisan wrote...

We're a friendly lot! You just have to be able to handle the occasional shirtless Kaidan picture. Doug84 may have some good pointers there.
We are friendly, be warned though, it gets pretty depraved in there .............. and that's the way we like it!

Good. I can almost see what will happen if rumor starts up that she wont be in or romancable in ME3.
Unruly mod surronds bioware HQ. Ok, bioware release Ashley Williams, no one has to get hurt here. But I don't know how long I can keep this mob under control. Mob talks it over. Ok yeah, chocolate, we need chocolate. So send out Ashley and chocolate, and we can end the peaceably. Mob girls talk. Kaidan? hmmm, ok. Kaidan also. The girls have needs. Ok so send out Ash, chocolate, and Kaidan. Please hurry its getting ugly out here.
*tentatively puts up hand* Erm can we have more than one request please?

As for shep getting arrested maybe,... ( sorry drifted off to fantasy involving Ashley and handcuffs,..) but Anderson instead of being concerned about shep and cerberus. He could have said Shep what you are doing is treason. So I don't know.
