Is this regarded as Tali and Garus in ME2 or other possible squad mates in ME3??

Played an important role in the story?  BS!

And did people think only one ME1 would be recruitable?  Because there was only two! Hardly "more than we might have thought"!

At chiefdodo, it's probably safer for all of us if you go and play ME, so don't shoot the dog (unless you're really reaaly sure no one can see you Posted Image)

No no, a lot of us care too: my family mostly comes from the British Isles after all. I didn't mean to offend I just saw UK as your location and decided to play it safe.

As far as important. I think he meant the whole story, the trilogy.

this quote is just so ominous to me.... I mean, of course they'll be around for ME3, but what will their roles be? if all we get from Ash/Kaidan/Liara in ME3 is the same kinda stuff from ME2, I will be very..... put out.Posted Image

Oh, great I just thought I had inadvertantly pissed off another Brit by referring to them as British. I swear there are an incredible amount of Scottish and Welsh seperatists online. Posted Image

This is taken from the same interview;

CaseyH-ME2: Yes, it's definitely difficult to continue the fiction when we allow major characters to be **bleep**ed off by player actions. But, that's part of the fun, and the impact of major consequences. One reason that the love interests were not recruitable in ME2 (but are still part of the story) is that they need to be around for the ongoing story in ME3.

It says that the weren't recruitable because they had to be around for ME3 which I think (MO) implies that they will be recruitable for ME3

All in the interpretation but signs look good I think.

Yup. Though to be fair, we English did forcably conquer them originally. Though they are drama queens about it now.

God I hate quoting myself.

Hello. Went around the net looking for
more hope. Might have found some.  Hope its ok to share this. This is
from a Q&A with Casey Hudson on giantbomb.com.

www.giantbomb.com/mass-effect-2/61-21590/mass-effect-2-qa-with-producer-casey-hudson/35-382636/

CaseyH-ME2: While Mass Effect fans have grown to love our characters,
you can imagine that after spending years crafting them, we have at
least as much of an attachment to them. So it's definitely not a case
of the team disregarding player's decisions with them or interest in
those characters - in fact, it's the opposite...

CaseyH-ME2: We
actually want to make sure these characters survive the ME2 story,
which ultimately is a suicide mission: some of your crew will almost
certainly die. Some of the ME1 characters are back, and recruitable
(more than you might think), and the ones that aren't still play an
important role in the story and will be around for ME3 - which we can't
say for the new characters.

CaseyH-ME2: Finally, if
you are worried about the role of the ME1 love interest in the trilogy,
consider that the romance itself is told across the trilogy, in 3 acts.
Apply the 3-act concept to what's happening in your relationship with
them, and you might guess where we're going with it.

Well, me dad is a Scot, married to a Northerner, and thinks his country men are being ****s over the whole independence thing, heh. And I've got Irish somewhere on in the great-grandparents. Really, we're all interbreed, its just nationalist silliness.

I know, we all like to keep ourselves segregated, who knows what might happen if we actually all got together, we might have an Empire again!

I think it is all but confirmed that they will be recruitable squad mates in ME3. Even if they aren't (which would be regrettable), I guarantee them important roles at the very least. The whole marriage thing discussed earlier is quite possible, but the reason I do think that the LI would at least have to be on the Normandy is that if they do go with the whole marriage thing, there needs to be a reconnection between Shepard and their LI. Ashley herself stated in ME2 that a lot of time has passed and neither of them are the person they used to be. I would be a little miffed if they cover this reconnection in the gap of ME2 and ME3 without showing it and then we are just thrust into a marriage/serious relationship without feeling that time has passed. Bioware is going to be walking a fine line, but I trust them to handle it well

Believe me, you guys got it easy. My German family is half Alsatian half Wurtemburger/Austrian, the amount of hate between them at family reunions is terrifying. Posted Image Don't even get me started on the Czech part; they hate EVERYBODY!
