Well, me dad is a Scot, married to a Northerner, and thinks his country men are being ****s over the whole independence thing, heh. And I've got Irish somewhere on in the great-grandparents. Really, we're all interbreed, its just nationalist silliness.
Ok I def win this one, my nan is Irish, my grandad southern English, my other nan was Italian and my other grandad Ukranian and I was born and bred in northern England and still refer to all southerners as pansys.

Heh, I didn't say it was difficult - the Welsh and Scots just whine and **** alot about being associated with us English - hell, the Scots are complaining about their own parliment trying to hold a vote on full independence.

CaseyH-ME2: We
actually want to make sure these characters survive the ME2 story,
which ultimately is a suicide mission: some of your crew will almost
certainly die. Some of the ME1 characters are back, and recruitable
(more than you might think), and the ones that aren't still play an
important role in the story and will be around for ME3 - which we can't
say for the new characters.
I think we can stop speculating about Ash/Kaidan returning and recruitable in ME3. These interview qoutes Liam has been posting makes it seem pretty clear.
The last part of the above qoute kind of makes me worry about some other characters though. If Garrus survived, I better be able to recruit him in ME3. I want garrus with me 'til the end as well. I also hope Grunt is still on my team, after all...I am his Battle Master!
Still, I just can't wait to be able to talk to Ash again and continue developing what we had...

this quote is just so ominous to me.... I mean, of course they'll be around for ME3, but what will their roles be? if all we get from Ash/Kaidan/Liara in ME3 is the same kinda stuff from ME2, I will be very..... put out.

Hello. Went around the net looking for
more hope. Might have found some. Hope its ok to share this. This is
from a Q&A with Casey Hudson on giantbomb.com.
www.giantbomb.com/mass-effect-2/61-21590/mass-effect-2-qa-with-producer-casey-hudson/35-382636/
CaseyH-ME2: While Mass Effect fans have grown to love our characters,
you can imagine that after spending years crafting them, we have at
least as much of an attachment to them. So it's definitely not a case
of the team disregarding player's decisions with them or interest in
those characters - in fact, it's the opposite...
CaseyH-ME2: Finally, if
you are worried about the role of the ME1 love interest in the trilogy,
consider that the romance itself is told across the trilogy, in 3 acts.
Apply the 3-act concept to what's happening in your relationship with
them, and you might guess where we're going with it.
Well being the second act I would have guessed that in ME2 the relationship develop and deepen the relationship and at the end have conflict added in to be resolved in the third.
I would have not guessed a two minute cameo where the relationship between the two is barely even recognised.

How little they where used isn't a good introduction to people who never played, or to people who havn't played in 2 years. Doesn't seem fair to those who romanced them.

Read an article on it once, because I regularly argue with my friend about it, think it's funny to call her a souitherner she hates it! The conclusion was that the line actually runs pretty much through Leicestershire so I think you get to decide tbh Doug.

And finally before I completely focus, don't worry pyro, we'll ignore county prejudices although shame your family isn't from Leeds, some of the most attractive men I've ever met were from Leeds, they would even challenege the likes of Kaidan, they wouldn't win but they'd come close!
