neat pictures you guys found

I think because you know wha's coming your attention isn't as focussed so you spot things you missed before, I know last time I played there seemed to be loads more glitches than I remembered!

I see your still here so I assume you neither shot the dog or the owner?

It's a good thing you couldn't support Ash sucessfully from a cell!

So he went with option C? Seduction? Nice...

gosh, save the crew or save Ash...

given the option, my Shepard would choose to sacrifice himself to save the crew rather than risk Ashley, but if theres no such option... man, I dont know. And itll probably stay that way for me until I'm faced wiith that option in ME3, should it arise. uh, so painful.... I might, MIGHT save the crew, simply because I know thats what Ash would want me to do, and by doing that I'm the only one that has to live with the regret, not me and Ashley. but really I'm not sure.

Afternoon Ash fans!

I'm noticing them a lot less in my 2nd playthrough, mostly because I know where they are. As soon as that Benezia fight started I ran away where her biotics can't hit me. That fight gave me so much trouble the first I almost gave up on the game.

Hey.  I just wanted to pop in and let you all know about an epiphany I just had:

I like Ash.

Let me explain:  I was sitting here, eating my peanut butter toast and reflecting on my Virmire decision (something I occasionally do) and recalling my recent decision to finally do a Kaidan romance playthrough of ME1, just so that I could see what would happen when I cheated on his ass with Garrus.

For that playthrough, I let Kaidan live...but I also created a save right before the Virmire decision. And when I'd beaten the game, I promptly reload and played the ending saving Ashley.  I really just couldn't finish a game without saving Ashely: for me, that's the canon ending.

For a long time I'd always saved Ashley at Virmire for two reasons:  1), First and foremost she has a family that loves her and even depends on her to some degree.  I feel like a heartless **** if I let her die.  2), I felt like she was just the lesser of two borings, and nuking Kaidan gave me a curious pleasure.

Just now I realized that it's grown to be more than that:  I like Ashley.  I like her as a character.  I like that she isn't the perfect woman (not knocking on Miranda here, just using the phrase in general).  She has some serious character flaws that make her compelling.  I used to be very judgmental of both her faith and her racism, but now I feel like it just makes her deeper.  She has good reasons to believe what she believes, and it gives her room for growth.

A lot of people are pissed at Ashley/Kaidan's responses to you on Horizon.  I can pretty solidly say that it was that appearance that finally opened my eyes to the awesome character that she is:

I love that she took a stand on Horizon:  she learned that you were working for the enemy, and no matter your reasons that is not ok with her.  Ashley is a fiery, strong-willed personality.  To just lay down and take everything you say at face-value would have been out of character for her.  Any jackass can just believe what Shepard says; it takes real stones to defend what you believe.  She does so.

I've heard people complain, asking why Ashley or Kaidan can't trust you like Garrus and Tali do, why she isn't more loyal. Her reaction to me on Horizon convinces me that Ashley is possibly more loyal than the rest:  She believes in the person she knew; but now Shepard has taken this total 180 and is now working for the enemy.  She's true to the values and morals of the Shepard she knew, and has no way of knowing if he/she's the same person.

Wow....that was longer than I'd intended.  Sorry about that.

In case you didn't read all that crap, and totally I don't blame you if you didn't:

SUMMARY:  Ashley is totally awesome and compelling, and I'm fully on board with her now.  I hope hope hope hope she's a squadmate in ME3, and I hope those of you that romanced her get the epic ending she and Shepard deserve!

All this talk of possible endings in ME3 makes me wonder what I'll do. I will have to make a save before any possible choice, as I think I will want to play most of them out. I just hope that we don't have to make a choice between Ash and the galaxy, as that will be heart breaking.

Personally, I'm all for the rare happy ending, that somehow Shep can have the girl AND save the galaxy. Saving only one is going to cause terrible guilt all round, neither Shep nor Ash will ever be the same afterwards.

If Ash is a party member, she will be staying at my side most of the game, especially during the main important missions. Want her where I can see and protect her. Yes, she probably would chew me out for such a thing, but I already lost her once after all.

Let us hope that Ash can again be Shep's inspiration to rise to impossible heights yet again, whatever happens.

Fantastic post. I used to love ash, and then I got to the horizon encounter, it initially made me do a 180 about how I felt about her character. That is a really powerful scene and a lot of people act differently towards it. Generally negative at first.
Go skim the first 10 pages or so of this thread for posts made by me. I was pissed off.  however after really breaking down what happened there and the overall situation, I eventually came to realize the error in my ways.

Siltsonata, You know nothing of the Chief.

Ashley is not racist in the tiniest bit. But this is an argument the thread has had since the trolls first started popping up.

Just one thing. It has to go on record that Ashley has a better ass than Miranda. It doesn't sag like the latter. Thank you, that is all.Posted Image

they are filled with pure awesome.

too much at the backside, but that´s just my opinion.

Still, she is only #2.
