Can't we just have a 5 minute DLC made solely for Shep and Ash to make up? Haha. Actually I don't want that, but the idea is funny.

An Ash/Kaidan dlc would be cool, as would a Liara dlc.

We can dream, right? :(

I also hated how whenever you try to be nice to another female squadmate who is a possible love interest, it always seems to lead to romance and there is no nice way to turn them down, i personally let the relationship with Tali and Miranda go abit too far, by just wanting to be good friends with them both, and then you end up with only harsh ways to break off the relationship, making you feel like a complete ****. Then to top it all off they seem pissed off with you and dont talk to you much for the rest of the game.

I remember Kelly Chambers asking about the relationship with Ashley after Horizon but nobody else seems to, it would of been nice to of had an option to mention Ashley to the other love interests as a way of turning them down but no, suprising seeing as Tali would probably of been aware of the relationship, and being the sweet little thing she is you would of though she would of asked about it, oh well.

It does kind of seem like bioware wants you to end the relationship with your me 1 li's which is kind of worrying, but i still have faith!

There is a list of reasons why Ash is not a xenophobe. Simply she is cautious of aliens and making sure humanity does not become reliant on outsiders. Desiring independence is not racism. No nation on Earth wants to be "reliant" on another, yet that does not mean outright denying relations with other countries.

Plus, she can work with Captain Kirrahe on Virmire, and she compliments there skill, and she outright calls the Human Extremist group Terra Firma as a group of xenophobic "jackals" who have replaced the originally noble aims of the party with anti-alien paranoia.

Yes, she was a bit ****y on Horizon, I think it makes sense for her to be pissed, and it wouldn't make be very realistic for her to go strait back to you right away. Plus, she pretty much acknowledges her ****iness back there and apologizes with an e-mail later.  She still calls you Skipper.

Plus, she believes in God. That's a subject that rarely comes up in video games period, let alone in a game whose setting screams otherwise. That's deep. that alone sold me on her character. God is win-sauce. (Yes, I am comfortable enogh with my beliefs to not only state that here, but also say God is win-sauce.)

I'll wait for you Ash. I've already waited 2 years, and passed some of the most tempting options ever so a year more or so won't kill me...

I believe this is 100% grade A Truth.

BioWare is a coniving, evil schemer, so i expected that that remaining faithful would be difficult, but I didn't realize how.

Honestly, Ash's attitude on Horizon is basically supposed to make you feel okay with "moving on." It was totally intentional.
BioWare put on devil horns offers you a condom and said "Oh hey, looks like she tottally broke up with you, here, look, Miranda's butt, hey check it DEM HIPS on Tali, who is definatly legal now. Oh, how bout the chick with nothing but a BELT on?"

I would bet that makes all the more "rewarding" in ME3 for those who wait. The scene with Sheperd looking at the photo (which made me  ) was all the proof I need.

I never had that problem. I just try to stay away from those "top right" options. they tend to be flirty with any potencial LI. Even when I say "I'm not interested" to Tali, Sheperd puts it in a very polite manner, and she doesn't seem to care too much. Plus, when you reach those stages where there asking you if you interested, you usually near the end of the game anyway, and they won't have much else to say. If you said you interested, they have only one more thing to say "lets **** before we all die."

I agree, it kind of feels like a trial or test they are putting us through with all these shiney new li's, the real Ashley lovers will be rewarded for staying faithfull, the contents of the email and looking at Ash's picture before going into the relay definately prove there is still something there and give the relationship ALOT of hope.

Just thought i would stick up some screenshots of the email aswell, just to refresh people's minds.

Amen. That scene in Shepard's cabin was both heartbreaking and immensely satisfying at the same time. I hope BioWare doesn't drop the ball in ME3.

It's also somewhat rare in science fiction, at least for a human character, to openly profess a belief in God. It's strange, because aliens can go on and on about their religion (looking at you Thane), but it is unusual for a human to show a more spiritual side.

I had someone tell me they hated Ashley because they though she was a God-crazy religious zealot.

Then to add hippocrisy to his stupidity, he said he thinks Thane is awsome.

I think the religious angle to Ashley's character adds even more depth to her, i remember her saying something in me 1 like "How can you look out there at the universe and not believe in.. something"

This is unfortuantely kind of common; religion is ok if it's made-up, but if it bears resemblance to real religion, people don't like it...you can see any discussion on the Chantry over in the DAO boards for a good example of this. But I'm sure a discussion of religion would threadjack everything away from the Ashley-love, and no one wants that.

(And, for the record, I like Thane, too...Shepard needs to find out who his tailor is...)

It's heavily suggested that romance options will be getting a secondary sidequest or something in the future, because they all have their loose ends that need tying up.

Ashley has her sisters (Was going to say grandfather, but that got fixed n ME2).
Kaidan has his "girlfriend" from his biotic training.
Liara has her "father".

I love how people get all wigged out at the first mention of God by Ashley. She MENTIONS it ONCE and it's not like she tried to convince you of anything. She didn't even ask if you believed or not. She asked if it was a problem that she did.

People find reasons to complain, even if it's not even something that requires complaining. Like that one guy who complained that he prefered Mass Effect 1's graphics.

Never went on the DA board, but I figured as much. People on the internet don't like God. A lot of it is the whole "not believing in him means I'm smarter and therefore,  above you" teen BS.

I like Thane too. The fact that he believes in something is only one reason of many.

Heck, I'm not religious myself, but I had zero problems with Ashley's religious beliefs. It's only when people judge me for not sharing their beliefs and try to force them on me that I get upset. Ashley never judged Shepard for not being religious; as long as he didn't judge her for believing, she was cool with him.

There are so many ironies with that.

She mentions god once, and if you say no, she doesn't force it on you, so what do you do? Why go on forums and complain about how BioWare has a lot of nerve NOT forcing God on you, of course! Image IPB

Then, years later, you make you "Thane is awsome! He's so religious!" thread.Image IPB

Well, I think a lot of people go through a phase in their life where they reject religion and all authority, and I'm not surprised that a large percentage of the target audience for gamers fits into that group. I also see why Bioware didn't go whole hog and make her explicitly one particular religion (there was enough contreversy in ME1's release without that particular headache.)

Which is why Ash was refreshing. And she's unapologetic about it, too (one almost gets the vision of Navigator Pressly or someone poo-poo'ing her religious beliefs), just like she is about everything.

Im hoping that the reason that Ashley/Kaiden and Liara are kept out of ME2 is to make sure they stay alive for ME3. Does this seem logical for people on here to agree with? Have the developers mentioned anything on this?

I hope ashley is a squadmate for ME3 because I really like her character and hope to get more interaction with my characters LI than a 2 mins.
