They confirmed the reason they were sidelined was to perserve them.

Except Liara, who is the only person unkillable (and thus most likely to fill the 'token Asari' role in ME3.)

Liara died to me in her short appearence.

She wasn't the same, very flirty alien that I befriended and told to go away in the com room after she & Ash were debating over me.

Honestly, I think I'd prefer it if they left Liara on Illium. She's very well connected there, and would probably be more useful to Shepard there than she would if she returned to the Normandy.

I kind of agree, i never liked Liara that much, but i think she should get a role as a squadmate if the likes of Kaidan and Ashley do, its only fair.

Hopefully the conservation leads to a major squadmate and romance role rather than another minor cameo role.

Ashley is the best! My ME1 Shep romanced her and he was faithful through ME2. Well, there was that little thing with Kelly, but hey its a long cruise. She's tough, hot and she has your back. Don't get down on her because of how she reacted to you in ME2. She had no idea how to react. Remember her initial words? She calls Shep a God. Doesn't sound like she is over him.

It's been mentioned in many of their interviews so I do believe Kaiden/Ashley and Liara will be squadmates in ME3. I would check the youtube videos, I think that's where I heard it from
