I'm all for making THIS the Ashley support thread. I love that woman.

She's a well written character and she's flawed like anyonen else. Part of why she's so interesting is because everyone seems to be really polarized about her. You either love her or hate her. Not a lot of characters illicit that response, which I think is a testament to the writing.

And I think the writers did well in ME2, Moblin. They purposely made it something Shepard couldn't talk his way out of, which creates interestingn drama and story. The estrangement with Ash (whether you romanced her or not) is scripted to have some sort of impact later. I loved it.

Let's give her some love. :)

Ashley cleared her family name on Virmire and is known as a hero of the Alliance postmortem and that's how we like it! She's also been known to say: "Humans, aliens, we're all just animals" If you get rid of her anti alien view maybe.

:)

I laughed so hard at that news report.  Ahh revisionist's history....

As annoyed with her as I was following Horizon, this one is not true. She evolves quite a bit on the issue during ME1 (and was never really racist to begin with) and on Horizon she calls Cerberus on the carpet for their racist views.

It's not that she is a bad character. It's just that aliens are more interesting because they are aliens. I think the only human characters are like are Jack and Joker. Jack is so out there and Joker is just damn funny.

Gives her alot of character and a touch of realism if you ask me, considering her background and family you can understand her feelings, but you can also help change her and convince her to think and act differently. If you ask me Ashley is definately one deepest and best thought out characters, it actually takes abit of extra effort and thought to understand Ashley better, compared to some of the more simple love interests.

Ashley is not a space racist. Ashley is fine and I like her personality. She is really gonna rock with her boom stick come ME3. Yes there should be a Ashley ME3 thread just like the rest of them.

I support this thread! Ashley Williams is my bff and needs to come back into my squad for ME3.

Thing is, I wasn't really happy with any of the romance choices in ME1. I didn't pursue Ashley; I SETTLED for her! :0

This is dumb. I wasn't really happy with any of the ME2 romance choices, so I didn't pick one. It's that simple.

So being a little creped out by people with tentacles for hair or giant lizards that can rip you in two makes you racist?

If anything Ashley is the most realistic character because of this. Alien beings with alien mindsets makes her a little uneasy. Hell I'd freak out a lot more the first time I had to share work space with a krogan. It's only been a few decades since humanity came into contact with other forms of sentient life and a good guess is that it's still a minority of the combined human population that has even talked with one.

Ashley isn't racist. At most she is suspicious of anything she is unfamiliar with. Ignorant? Yes. Pessimistic and cynical? Yes. Racist? No.

Ashley is self sufficient and believes everyone else should be too. She doensn't distrust the alien allies, but she doesn't think humanity should depend on them either.

Through working with aliens and becoming more familiar with them though her views change (unless your Shepard reinforced the idea that aliens weren't our friends).

The line on Horizon "I'm no fan of aliens" makes me think that in the two years since Shepard has been missing Ashley has really had it up to here with the Council - not aliens in general.

Ashley is a very complex character. There are so many layers to her personality, so many contradictions, and u-turns. She's not easy to like, so some players just get frustrated and write her off as a racist, or a b****, or whatever. By doing so, you're missing out on forming a relationship with the most "human" character in the whole franchise.

Ash and her really great cheekbones. Don't know why. Never been a cheekbone person before. But it's one of the things I found striking about her face. Cheekbones. I'm weird.

@ratzerman.  This is exactly it.  They've made a very real character with her.  And real people don't always agree with you or have the same opinions.  So players just looking for a bunch of yes men or some swoony delicate flower to fawn all over them get frustrated with Ash.  She's a challenge.  My Shep accepts that challenge.

There isn't a support thread for Ashley because Ashley/Kaiden are confirmed to be in ME3, Tali/Garrus aren't confirmed yet.

I chose Ashley to remain on Virmire each and everytime. I found her personality to be grating and very annoying. When first presented with the option of Ashley or Kaiden I didn't even have to think about it. She was the only character besides Udina that I really disliked from the get-go. After my first playthrough I rarely if ever talked to her, if it would have been an option I would have spaced her after leaving Eden Prime. She was also a very cliched character in action adventure yarns. Underneath the gruff exterior beats the sensitive heart of a poet or in Ashley's case that would be plagiarist.

So the only support Ashley recieves from me is to hug the thermonuclear device on Virmire.
