Ash and her really great cheekbones. Don't know why. Never been a cheekbone person before. But it's one of the things I found striking about her face. Cheekbones. I'm weird.

@ratzerman.  This is exactly it.  They've made a very real character with her.  And real people don't always agree with you or have the same opinions.  So players just looking for a bunch of yes men or some swoony delicate flower to fawn all over them get frustrated with Ash.  She's a challenge.  My Shep accepts that challenge.

I don't understand why people say shes racist against aliens, shes against terrafirma because of their racist view as well as cerberus

but why is she soooo feminist??? they made her a im a woman and i can beat up any man......... i dont care if you believe that or not, it just makes it seem like she thinks she could fight chuck liddell. i for one think that is one part phooey and two parts hoohah

I never really saw Ash as extremely feminist.  Just a strong woman.  I don't think she was over the top with badassery.  She was pretty vulnerable and lacked some self confidence actually.  I don't think her tough attitude came from being a woman.  I think it came from her family history.

There isn't a support thread for Ashley because Ashley/Kaiden are confirmed to be in ME3, Tali/Garrus aren't confirmed yet.

*facepalm*

Bioware gave Tali fans everything they ever asked for, and more.
All it did was make them more militant.

When did this turn into a fighting contest?

/facepalm

She's a tough and resilient soldier. Not unlike Shepard (if you pick the soldier class).

She never claimed she could beat up a man, she never claimed she could be up Wrex. These arguments seem to be coming out of thin air.

But none of them are confirmed SQUADMATES.  That's what we want.  Posted Image

I thought they said she was? That they kept Kaiden/Ashley out of the squad in ME2 so that they CAN be squadies 100% in ME3?

They said nothing about anyone as squadmates. Jsut that they would play a larger, more important role in ME3.

She's also been known to say: "Humans, aliens, we're all just animals" If you get rid of her anti alien view maybe.

:)

FemShep can't turn her paragon, and I still got this news snippet.

I think Ash was a great character, and I hate leaving her on Virmire.  With the male Shep I'm running through ME2, though, there's no romantic history there.  I already know what it's like to play through ME2 once with an ME1 romantic interest, and I'm more keen to find out what the ME2 loves are like.  But Ash will remain a valued friend - if the post-Horizon rift can be healed!

I liked Ash but like others here the convo on Horizon put me on the fence she's like "Why didn't you call me blah blah blah" and you say "well honey I was in a coma for two years" and what do you get for a reply? nothing not even an "oh my god a coma! you say...like it was his fault or something. I'm not sure, I hope she's in 3 but as a squadmate i guess it'll depend oh who they take out. But I heard the same thing about how Kadan/Ash were going to be squadmates in 3 but that was a while back

Ash is my favorite ME character as well. She's got the deepest personality and seems to be the most realistic of all the characters, in my opinion. As in, I feel as if she's someone I might ACTUALLY encounter somewhere and form a relationship with, which is perfect because I try to make decisions in Bioware games according to what I would actually do.

And lets be honest, although I do like Tali, there's just no way I'd get with someone thats got half as many fingers as me.

The fact that Ash is so polarizing is a reflection of just how well developed and interesting her character is.

Plus, she kicks major ass in combat. Say what you want about her otherwise, but don't even try to deny that.

The tali and miranda fans have theirs, well where is the thread to show our desire to see Ash return in ME3? Come on people

Edit:  Well since there isn't one yet I'm making this the 'official' Ashley Williams support thread, post here to show your love for Ash and join our group at http://social.bioware.com/group/1333/ to show bioware we want her back!

Ash's support thread will arrive when Ash shows Shepard some support.

I don't trash talk Ashley. Her reason for not joining me in ME2 was
RETARDED. I think her character is fine.

I hope they giver her a bigger role in ME3. She was such a well developed character in ME, it was a serious letdown for me in this game. My only complaint about this game is feeling like her character took a step backwards.

Suggesting that, "Bioware tuned her into an idiot in ME2" is trash talking the character. Posted Image

Her reason wasn't "retarded." What kind of a person would she be if she dropped everything to just blindly follow a man she's not even sure she knows anymore.

After all, in her mind he's been alive for two years and hasn't contacted her. And even after he says he was dead she's still getting hit with a big wall of WTF.

Her character would be really uninteresting if she (or Kaidan or Liara for that matter) just shrugged and was like "okay. I guess we'll just sort this out later. Whatever you say, Shepard. Yes Shepard. Of course Shepard. I live my life to cater to YOU Shepard."

If people want blind obedience or a lapdog fawning over them, they can go to Tali.

Ash fan reporting for duty.

I'm really annoyed that after the suicide mission, I got the Paramour achievement because I went to talk to Jack and was nice and it randomly triggered her scene. I had no intention of cheating on Ashley Williams. :(

I agree, Miranda made me feel dirty afterwards, you're just talking then she's all lets shack up, but wait until I get done with this paperwork.  Then after not talking for a while lets meet in the engin room. Ashely's felt more like a natural progression and real connection. Miranda it was just about sex.

Actually, all you have to do is see how aggressive Tali fans are and you will understand they are adolescent. At least most are and the one's that claim they are not children only make themselves look more stupid because now they are just proving that they are older children. So getting back to the point, Ashley deserves just as much love and a chance to return in ME3 as the next LI. I say that very reluctantly given my allegiance to Liara. But what they heck I like Ashley too, just not as much or on the same level.

I didn't feel like the ME2 romances were necessarily flings per se.  And some of them are really good and there is a real connection (Thane/Garrus/Tali especially).  But it's true that they didn't really feel as... I don't know...sweet?  Genuine? as in ME1?
