I probably would have left Tali or Liara; I like them both, and they're good characters, but I never took them with me anywhere because my Shep worked better with the others.

Wrex for me. He is good, but he is my least favourite squadmate from ME1 and near the bottom overall between both games.

Thats a good question...I've always like Tali...I said liked btw <_<...I don't know though..it would have
been a toss up between Wrex (if Ash didn't off him earlier on) or Liara(she kinda bugged me)...
I would have liked to save bothAsh And Kaidan...but since that can't happen,
I always save Ash hehe:P

Liara, despite the following plot points:
AFTER Virmire, she mind melds you again to find out about Ilos.
Getting your body from the Shadow Broker in Redemption
Having info for you on Thane and Samara in ME2.
Out of the non LI NPCs, personal liking went: Wrex (Just), Garrus, Tali, Liara. That said, my ME1 team of choice was Ash and Garrus.
