This one is a monster. Look at the size of it! It is a very well written story in which Shepard is not portrayed as the knight in shining armor for a change. It deals a lot about Shepards past and explains why he has become the man he is.
It´s well worth the time to read it and although there is not a lot going on in the relationship between Ashep yet, it is probably going to be awesome. (currently about half through the ME1 storyline)
In short: If you have the time, at least try it out.

There are many other great fanfics of course, maybe you can share your favorites too?

edit: I intentionally didn´t link any of Badpies stories, since you are beyond help anyway if you haven´t heard about her awesome work until now.

Also, Ash is #1.
