Ow i love ME2! But what happend with Ash is a major letdown.

Yes it was....I felt alittle depressed after Horizon...until I got her email that is....it
lifted my spirits alittle.Gave me hope for DLC or ME3:D

I was a helluva lot dissapointed. I kept waiting, in agony, for her to show up. I was waiting , I thought after a while that she is probably on disk 2, and then Illusive man was like "Ash is on Horizion" and I was like "H0LY **** HAX" And I wanted to get there as fast as possible. I got there, saw her go down, and I thought she was gone, taken by collectors.. At the end. I met her face to face, I felt so good, relieved that she was here, and she started getting mad, and my heart sank and I felt empty and depressed as hell.

Biggest dissapointment ever. 

It's okay we feel your pain, atleast we got this though

Yeah same after Horizon i felt Bioware were trying to turn us against her, but that email made me smile. I wish it was a video message though so i could see her face and hear it in her voice. I realy hope she is part of the romance pack and a squad mate in ME3.

I noticed in ME2 none of the squad have uniform for when not in combat. I hope in ME3 Ash wears her uniform on the Normandy and not her armor i think that would look silly. I mean why does Garrus and Jacob wear there armor on the Normandy? The rest i kinda understand (most dont wear armor)

Yeah true i'd liked to have seen Garrus in regular turian clothes.That would have been cool^_^

There is a model made with him in regular clothes, in the femShep/Garrus romance at the end when he is in the captain quaters he is dressed in civilian clothing. So i dont see why they make him wear armor all the time.

Morning all. When I left this thread late last night we were in some turbulent times. I am at least encouraged to see some genuine Ashley discussion going on now.

Just thought I'd throw in my two cents on the Horizon sequence: I am actually proud of Ashley for not joining Shepard. Disregarding everything else, she proved the strength of her own convictions and that she isn't just Shepard's lackey. For that alone, I found it impossible to be angry with her even though my Shepard didn't get the email because he's a default ME2 character.

Considering the horrors that Cerberus committed in ME I dont blame Ashley for not joining up. It would be like joining up with the Germans in WW2 to stop the Soviets. How lame they auto edit the word that means those nasty evil Germans....you know the ones

I hoping she makes a return in ME3 as a full character. The cut scene before the Collector base when I didn't romance a girl had a glimmer of hope she would return.

(Top paragraph)I'm not really surprised they auto-edit, since this is a global site and that's still a sensitive subject for some Germans. Although, actually, since they auto-edit, there's no choice but to use the word "Germans" which is in all honesty too respectful a term for the people you know and I know you're talking about. But getting sidetracked...

(Bottom paragraph)Since a big theme of ME2 was loyalty, I think there can be substantial hope that Ashley/Kaidan and Liara will be returning. The bro played ME2 faithful to Liara, and then romanced Tali with another character, and frankly I liked the photo-staring scene better than the necessarily awkward love scene (even is Tali is adorable when she starts talking really fast, but getting sidetracked again...).

I'm surprised the word "Soviet" isn't auto-edited, as well, come to think of it.

She just got her first(?) real mission where she is the person in command. Imagine how it would look to the alliance if she went AWOL just because a former spectre, that appareantly works for a terrorist organization now asks her to join him...

Maybe we were expecting too much? And Shepards way of talking in that situation didn´t help anyone either.

Hopefully the ME3 reunion will be what we were hoping for. We will have waited long enough and deserve more than a hug.

I have a feeling something catastrophic will happen that will cause Ashley/Kaidan to completely lose their faith in the Alliance, like Alliance brass siding with the Council and welcoming the Reapers as saviors of the galaxy, or something like that.

I felt the same. Ash/Kaidan are both principled and willing to take a stand, even when it hurts. It's "in character" for them to turn you down and I thought it was well played on BW's part. Both characters are willing to arm the bomb in ME1 and be atomized to stop Saren... that says a lot about dedication and it's not just because of Ash's family background.
