That's one of the many aspects of ME1 that make it such a great experience.The only person I enjoyed talking to in
ME 2 was Tali....Garrus always had calibrations so he wasn't available.<_

Im in the middle of a rush ME1 playthrough, just to talk to Ash.


Why rush it? All you'll end up with is another finished run and no more Ashley. Just enjoy running through battles and clicking on her a lot to hear the random lines. Obviously grabbing screenshots along the way. :)

I do...I don't look at the screen when the nuke goes off.Too painful to watch:crying:.The only part I 
hate in ME1 is "the choice".I'd rather sacrifice Liara instead.^_^

Every play through I do a save before talking to Ash. So I can go back an redo the convos. I play on PC so I get a lot of saves.

I don't think ME2 had anything close to that convo with Ash. Some say ME2 had better developed characters. I disagree.

You know, I hadn't thought about that. They did have much longer conversations in ME1 it seems, and I'd say higher quality content in that time. Don't get me wrong, I loved the humor in Garrus' romance (yes... I cheated on Kaidan once :o), but really you only get a bit of story about his squad and a tale about 'sparring'. Other than that, it's just adorable scenes that are endearing, but lack any kind of substance about the man you are dealing with. I'm not sure how much they gave the other ME2 interests, but I'm assuming roughly the same.  In which case, there was definitely higher quality romance in ME1 (both dialogue and options) ... all just my opinion obviously.

Ya thats how most of them are. For example, Tali is sweet and kind, but you barely know about her, but because of her, you know a sh!tload about the quarians. And Miranda, she is uninteresting. Cerberus, genetic tailor            b!tching, sister, more genetic tailor b!tching, sex.
In ME1, I felt like I knew, them, and they grew as a character, opposed to "Im a sweet and innocent quarian! Do me." *stares at Talimancers*
I also loved in ME1, you could see, hear, and feel, their relationship progress, instead of "I like you, you like me, where do we go now?"
ME1 characters FTFW.

Ash in an Art museum could work for me, but it depends on what kind of art. I'm only into digital art myself, but I can imagine my Shep being much more broad minded than me. Also, I think it would have to be human art first, until Ash asks about other species art. I think that for all her toughness, Ash can easily do the normal sweet soft female thing that makes us men's knees weak.


I can certainly see the 'softer' side of Ashley. The fact that she normally shows such a tough side would just make it all the more beautiful, too. She's had a bit of a rough ride with all the criticism she's had to take; only natural for her to show a tough face to the world. Her closeness to her family and her loyalty to Shepard and any of her commrades shows that there's a very loving side to her under it all. You just have to prove yourself worthy of seeing that side is all.

Did you know if you press the option "How can I help?" when she is talking about her Grandad, you can press a paragon option that changes the next conversation, kiss scene, and love scene? She actually takes a chance on the council because of you.

He's a cool dude, and I feel bad for his loss, but, I was just sitting here thinking, He's sitting his ass on a nuke, guarding it with his life, watching the Normandy fly away while a nuke explodes in his ear. I couldnt help but laugh. Image IPB
But another thing, on all eleven of my playthroughs, I have never been able to kill Ash. Ever. Not even kill her than reload it. I have never done it, EVER. And it will stay that way.

I am a save addict, too. It helps when you just want to try out the different options (extremely useful in DAO for me... so many different ways things can go) or just to be able to see it all over again later.

I think they developed some characters with potential to be greatly developed, but none of them seem as real as the ME1 LIs.

If you killed Liara, the Shadow Broker would have sold your body to the collectors.
Honestly, out of all of them, I would have chosen Kaiden, but I still like him. Helluva lot better than Jacob.Image IPB

Trust me, it's very hard to kill off your LI. I still haven't picked my game saving Ash. I love her to pieces, but I feel like an awful person for leaving behind someone I was starting a relationship with.

I like Tali and Garrus I guess. Probably Tali best. Tali feels close to shep, at least to me.

The new crew would be hard to chose between Mordin or Jack. Mordin is hyper and funny, Jack is tough and sympathetic. But over all Tali in ME2

Hmm, all this thinking about ME1, and thinking about this choice, and Virmire, makes me wish I could go back to the summer of 2008 and watch my twelve year old self play this game. I can remember the awesomeness of my first playthrough, Its like a montage of badass. Nothing will ever replace that first playthrough feeling. I couldnt put that game down, it was an epic space adventure that I couldnt put down. Thinking back, even then I knew how to romance Ash.  Image IPB I wish I could go back and relive that again.

Awww thanks.:) I think the really hard part was Ash's reaction. She just looks so forlorn about the decision which only increased the sadness. I took a screenshot of it and caught Ashley with her head down and eyes closed. When I looked at it I practically melted and had to just save the game and leave it there. I'll get back to it sometime... just gotta prepare myself for it first.

Yeah same here.I view Tali as a kid sister to Shep.Garrus as a brother.The only other
character I thought was cool was Legion.Wish I could recruit him earlier.:blush:

Actually, I was talking about Kaidan dying and Ash's reaction to it. And there's no need to try to play 'mine is better' lol; I love Ash, too. Just because I romance one doesn't mean I can't appreciate the other. :)

It feels like a while ago to me, I just would love to relive the feeling of playing ME1 for the first time. ME2 for the first time struck a few notes, but didnt hit the impact of ME1. I also wish I could relive my first KOTOR playthrough, when I was nine.

we're all getting mushy, sad, and stuff.

So, on the topic of favorite ME2 characters, Garrus is my favorite. In all honesty I wasn't a fan of Tali in ME1, but she's grown a lot on me in ME2. My original Normandy crew and team will always be closest to me; they've been there from the beginning before I was the Savior of the Citadel or whatever term people throw around.
