i dont know about daddy issues... i think more along the lines of "restoring family honor" issues.



shes concerned about making her father proud, not about getting back at her father like miranda or wrex.



come to think of it, shes kind of like Tali in that regard

She really wants to make her dad proud.  They may not be issues stemming from mistrust or bad treatment or anything and they are relatively low on the scale of "serious daddy issues."  They are mostly harmless, but I get the sense it's a large part of what drives her.

Ash loved her dad completely and just wants to restore her family name. I hope this does not hinder her in ME3. I think after Saren and the citadel that her honor will have been restored. Her Horizon speech to the mechanic though scares me that she may yet be carrying that baggage.

QFT. Could even stable, sane Jacob has a sidequest of confronting his father. Garrus talks about his career C-Sec dad in ME1. Grunt wonder's what Warlord Okeer's plan was for him. 
Thane and Samara are at least the other side of the daddy issues.
Jack doesn't have any daddy issues, but she seems to have plenty other problems.

Besides, everyone is shaped by their parents in some way, it's just an ME it's often exagerrated for dramatic effect.

Random question: how much do we know of Ash's pre-New Eden tours of service?

Shep said in ME1 he read her file that registered a bunch of crap assignments and one tour on a spacestation. She was the typical groundpounder type ie planetside most of the time until New Eden.

Too many people judge characters in this game by whether or not they "like" them. That's retarded. Fiction doesn't work without well-developed characters that aren't as likable.

Well i've decided to stop the playthrough where i cheated on Ash. (was kind of boring with the soldier class anyways) and will do one where i'm with her all the way. No more ME2 LI's for me
