Just thought I'd drop in and add my support - Ash strikes me as the most well-rounded and believable character in the entire game! Of all the other female romance options I genuinely don't understand what people see in them.
Liara: Yeah. You're a blue floosy.
Miranda: "Ooh poor me, I've been made 'perfect' in every single way *sniffle*". No you haven't. You're boring. And Australian. (j/k)
Jack: Intriguing, but let's face it, you wouldn't ever want to get into a domestic with that woman. She strikes me as capable of becoming an over-obsessive psychopath who'd have your balls for breakfast the moment you so much as smiled at another female lifeform.
Tali: Seriously? Don't get me wrong, I'm sure if BW do ever show her face, she'll be made to look like some angelic super-model to avoid the crazy Tali fans burning down the company HQ in protest, but realistically, if you've spent your whole life in one of those suits, you'd have grey pasty skin, and by the looks of it a freakishly long neck. Granted, good hips though. Essentially it's E.T. with a narrower head and derranged glowing eyes....And chicken feet. Just with a sweet and naive human personality and an alluring mask? No thanks.
By contrast Ash is pleasing on the eyes (without the completely overblown 'porn star' properties of Miranda) and her personality is believably flawed - not to the psycho extent of Jack, but in all probability the way most humans would react to a bunch of wierd looking aliens, yet she can be influenced in that respect.
And unlike Tali's unquestioning loyalty to Shep (who let's face it, whether Paragon or Rengade, can be a complete sanctimonious and arrogant pain in the arse sometimes) I actually really liked the encounter on Horizon as it showed Ash's ability to question you - not to the extent of 'Ah yes *fingerquotes* Reapers...' but in a plausible manner given what had happened - many people have complained about Ashley having a go at Shep, but I would have been bitterly dissapointed if she'd just dropped to his feet in worship without question. Likewise it didn't bother me that Shep's dialogue choices were pretty rubbish - firstly because I actually like the situations where Shepard isn't portrayed as a demi-god who can talk his way through any situation, and instead chooses his words badly sometimes, and secondly because *hopefully* it is designed to lead up to something great in ME3.
Granted, Kaidan's speech is near identical in this scene - I suppose for the one off cameo it would be asking a bit much for a completely different conversation - I just hope that Ash and Kaidan aren't made to be identical in ME3, and instead have distinct dialogue from one another.
Support Appreciated.
For me I like all of the characters. I prefer Ashley. I really , really prefer Ashley. They are well done and each have
a different appeal. Did I say I love Ashley. The ones I don't like are the turian consular, undina, and Tim.
Wish someone would mod the scene where the reporter gets punched and insert them. Sorry long time fantasy.
I don't like sheps dialog choices on horizon, but Ashleys fit her charater and the situation.
I too and I think all here are hoping for better from ME3.
Oh well off to work.
