Thought I would stop by and show my support for Ash in ME3. ME2 just wasn't the same without her (or Kaiden, depending on your choice)

@Faceman2006 - You forgot to mention that Miranda uniform is a couple of sizes too small and she has the biggest wedgy in the known galaxy!

Its that way on purpose. I think Bioware worked a long time on her assets. ;)

Edit. Scotland dropping by giving Ash some love. Thats great. Lets spread the love.

I thought the personality of Ashley was one of the better written characters I've seen in a game thus far.  Her "soldier-like" attitiude with the soft side of poetry really made her stand out and is why I was REALLY upset with the conversation outcome in ME2.  I'm holding out that we'll be able to continue the ME1 relationship in ME3.

To be honest though, Miranda looks better but I'd put 20$ on a bet that Ashley would take her in a duel.

I think you are probably right. Pity, they couldn't have spent that extra time on some better dialogue for Ash in ME2.

Scotland is pleased to be able to show Ash some love. LOL.

Honestly... I don't think the dialog was badly written. Why? Because given the emotions, turmoil and sheer randomness of the meeting, Shepard and Ashley where going to say things they'd regret.

Looking back on it I can come to that conclusion to. I mean for Shep it seems like only weeks but for Ash it is years.

Indeedie - 2 years dead and then he seems to pop up from no where with a 'chooie!' ^_^

But yeah, its actually good you reacted strongly to that scene - shows BioWare wrote something that made you feel.

For me, it was what Shep was unable to say that led to the regret. The 'you've moved on - I don't want to reopen old wounds' line was great - if there was a sentence added to that it would have been fantastic.

And I would have liked Ash to have had different dialogue to Kaidan in that scene, but that's a point for another discussion. Posted Image

Despite my obsessive adoration for tali, I keep finding myself drawn back to ashley.

Trying to figure out why.

Would explain the look on sheps face when he takes off the helmet.

since she was a B4 even before ME1, I guess she must be quite a bit higher now. i wonder what her current code is.

Definitely higher then '4'. At least B6. Assuming she's still 'B', which I assume is 'infantry' MOS.

Maybe she did all kinds of cool special forces training in the past two years and is now an 'N'. Which would definitely explain the secrecy surrounding her.

@LiamN7 make sure you get enough pitchforks for the Kaidan fans, regardless of who we chose Ash and Kaidan come hand in hand so let us join you on your crusade!

I shall do my best to gather all castle storming supplies.
Agreed on joining forces. I like Kaiden. It sucks to have to chose. Me2 you have to almost work at getting someone killed. ME1 there is no getting out of the choice. You choose one way I choose oppisite. But we can support each other. I love that. I got your back.

I gather torches and pitchforks, just in case. Hope I never have to use them.

yeah I suppose the Kaidanites have as much a stake in ME3 as us Ashley supporters.

the ME1 romances we really well done. Bioware claimed that the ME2 options would be really hard to pass up, and I guess a lot of people went that way, but I never felt all that much pressure. the new guys never connected with me the way Ashley did.

I mean, Miranda wanted to stick a control chip in my head, Tali is like a little sister to me, could never get with her, and Jack is.... well, Jack.

oh, and if Bioware screws Ashley/Kaidan over again in ME3 by simply giving them completely identical roles again, that will ****** me off to no end.

to some extent, thats OK. Actually, Bioware does that a bit to every character, and I can understand why it made sense for horizon.

but if their EVERY scene in ME3 is copied to both of them and no attempt is made to give them each original dialogue, that would really, really suck.

dont cheapen out on us, Bioware.

God I loved and hated how both of them handled it.  I can just imagine Shep's thoughts were something like this:

Good to see you Ash.  It's been too long.  "good to see you?!"  omg what the hell was that, John.  yeah real smooth guy!

You've moved on. Why would you even suggest that to her you dolt!  Stop talking right now!  I didn't want to reopen old wounds. Could you be more of an ass?!  Get it together, marine!

So long, Ash. YOU IDIOT!  DON'T JUST LET HER WALK AWAY!  YOU ARE PATHETIC!  GO TO YOUR CABIN AND CRY!  YOU DON"T DESERVE HER!

hahahahaha. yes, those were my feelings exactly.

after the initial opening salvo, I was certain that Shepard would surely have someting wittier and more thoughtful to say with his next response.

so I examined my options carefully and.... "youve moved on, Ash....." Well I certainly havent!

At that point, I saw where the whole thing was going, and I was pretty much thinking, John you need to stop talking. Stop talking right now.

but he didnt.

instead I mumbled something along the lines of "Cerberus is helping me but they dont control me...." what bull****. I mean, really, what an ****hole.

but surely, SURELY Shepard will not go down without a fight. Oh no, this is the woman he loves standing before him. it goes without saying that the man who defeated Sovereign, spat in the face of death, and is now the leader of the most badass squad of mercs in the galaxy WILL come through in the end and not let Williams walk awa.......

"Come with us, Ash. It'll be just like old times." Shepard, you wimp.

You loser. Go sit in your cabin and stare at her picture like an idiot and wait for an email. An email!

To quote Badpie once more: YOU ARE PATHETIC!  GO TO YOUR CABIN AND CRY!  YOU DON"T DESERVE HER!

I kind of love that Shepard can handle pretty much anything with ease and finesse except when it comes to Ash.  Then he's all tripping over himself and internally facepalming at the ridiculous things he says.

This post = win.

Poor Shep being unable to verbalise what he felt :(

And is the 'So long, Ash' the 'Goodbye' middle dialogue choice? I've always wanted to pick that one to see what he says, but I end up picking the 'Don't go' option.

Yeah middle choice.  I haven't tried it yet, but Malcom said that's actually the best one because you can hear how sad Shepard is when he says it.
