Even though off topic I want to add to this. When I was trying to find someone it never happened. When I was looking I never found, or I made mistakes. She and I were friends that would chat online. An accident really. It just kinda happened. We hit it off, it worked .  We have been married 11  1/2 years. So it can happen when and how you least expect it.  
So to go on topic. Kinda like Ash and Shep. He had no idea when he landed on Eden Prime how his life was gonna change.

Same with me and my husband.  And you are right about Shep and Ash.  I feel like their feelings for each other just kind of evolved naturally out of a mutual respect and candidness.  I can actually picture both of them having a single moment where they said to themselves "wait a minute...I have feelings for this person...hmm..."  LIke it kind of snuck up on them.

If she does have one, it's most likely something inspired by her father... a quote from "Ulysses" or "The Green Hills of Earth" on a scroll. She's kinda old fashioned and REALLY close to her family.
