Well, unless some really interesting topic starts up, I'll have to go. I need to wake up early tomorrow.

Well, Lets see if we can't do that. Earlier, when there weren't many people around. We talked about Ash's reaction to Shep's resurrection. I think this would lead to some intersting conversations in ME3, you know, because of her faith and everything.

She might have alot of questions about it. It might cause her to think alot. Shep wont have answers. He says in Me2, last thing he remembers is the normandy blowing up and then waking up in a cerberus lab.

Well, I did remark earlier, during the dead hours, that Ashley is probably into the traditional armed forces hymns, given her love of poetry and all.

I could see her liking them, though she seems kind of irreverent of tradition to me.

There's the poetry aspect, remember. Also, if the song in question were a part of Shepard's funeral I don't think there'd be a whole lote of irreverence. And you've gotta remember, she's an Alliance soldier through and through. If the Alliance Armed Forces had a traditional hymn Ash would be duty-bound to hold it with respect, if nothing else.

I agree. Interesting indeed, but the two concepts are not necessarily incompatible.

Indeed, if she's non-demominational Christian or some other religion. But judging by her appearence and name I'd say she's Catholic or Protestant of some kind. Therefore raising a big issue.

*shrug* Maybe. BW were smart to leave it vague, IMHO.

I still don't think Shepard's apparent resurrection would cause a major crisis of faith, though.

Oh, pyro, if you are still squirming about the hymns thing, give this a listen and tell me if that does not just scream *Alliance Navy* to you. It's a cue from the Crimson Tide soundtrack and I promise it's not religious in the way you're probably afraid it is.

I don't think they will get specific. I think they will keep it vauge.

I applaud Bioware's audacity in including a religious character, despite the potential for massive controversy. They were smart about it. I don't they'll so openly tempt ruin by specifying a particular brand of religion, though (and frankly, I wouldn't have it). And in character the keeping it vague works as well, because Ash's faith is not something she has to justify to anyone else.

And the theological/metaphysical question can still be raised: did Shepard, in fact, die? As in, did his soul ever leave his body?

Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. I just grew up Catholic(now I'm a dirty heathen) and I assumed from her appearence that she would likely be so too. To a Catholic, resurrection from death is a HUGE deal.

*hugs* Hi, Zeuss! I think if BW fails to provide an interesting conversation about resurrection with Ashley, they will have failed horribly. They did a great job putting in a character with religious beliefs, and to ignore the obvious topic of resurrection (so to speak) would be very disappointing.

*hugs* Hey, Pyro! Yes, this is my main femShep (soldier). The rest look pretty different (helps me keep them straight lol) except for my Vanguard. She is similar but less makeup and a less vibrant red color for her hair. Her eyes are blue also... I think. It's been awhile lol.

*hugs* YALE! I've missed having popcorn with you while these crazy men blow things up (and each other). I love Castle, btw. But it has Nathan Fillion... so of course it's good. :P
