*Waves* Glad to have you here!
It's always nice to see when someone gives Ash a chance (or 2nd chance it seems for you
). She really is a great character, and although I cannot speak from personal experience about her romance storyline, I imagine it is, as Liam says, worth it. What made you change your mind if you don't mind me asking? I'm just curioius to see what draws everyone in to Ashley.
Thanks for the replies...nice group.
Second: sure I enjoy talking about the game, but you may be sorry.

I tend to ramble.
Well, I had played through ME2 about 7 times, going between staying with Liara, going with Miranda, I even took Tali once. I had just played ME1 on the PC and took Liara, and then imported him into ME2.
Like I mentioned before, I always thought that Ash was a very shallow character. The token racist human who happens to be a "tough" female soldier....yeah right...pffft.

Like I said in the previous post, I found out I was wrong.
I wanted to play through both 1 and 2 with 1 fresh in my mind. So I took a little break from the game for a few days, and fired up my Xbox version of 1. I decide I would make it an Ash game since I had never really done it that way. Like I said, I took her on every mission, even though I thought Liara biotics would come in handy (singularity for the win), but I resisted and took Ash and decked her out.
The extra dialogue, her little suttle ways of telling Shep she's interested, her jealous ways, was all very endearing and made me like her more. By the time the Ilos mission came up, I thought to myself: I might just stay with her through ME2.
I am convinced (not having finished this play-through), that Ashley is just as commited to Shepard as Liara seems to be if you persue her. Ashley seems to be a miliatry woman that is trying hard to prove herself because of family history, seems to not trust many people, but definitely shows interest in "her Captain" throughout.
Good character.
