Badpie, after having read all of your stories (some of them twice^^) I must say...

Superb! :)

I only want to mention one part of the newest one in specific (All Clear#7, Spoilers follow :> ):

I thought it was great, that Shepard had this kind foreboding of his death in his dream. I would have liked if Shep had told Ash that he had a nightmare and thought he was going to die, because it felt so real. But thats just my opinion, maybe it would have been too dramatic anyway.

And now im sad, because there is nothing left to read.

I really hope you continue to write this quality stories of Shepard and Ash (#1).

I wanted to write this this morning but never got the chance.

I dont think Ashley would kill herself over Shepard dying, But I would not throw it out the window of speculation.

It is at least theoretically possible. (But it is also theoretically possible that I could jump through my computer screen and give all of you a hug. Not possible now, but maybe in the next 90 to 100 years...)

Ashley survives a lot of stuff that a lot of people die from. Ashley survives Eden Prime, losing a squad full of people who love her (Not like that. As in, they love her as a Leader and as a friend, But I doubt any of her squad ever had romantic feelings for her.)

Ashley survives Virmire, where one of her best friends and XO's dies. She was close to Kaidan I think.

Ashley survives the Battle of the Citadel, where a good portion of civilians die for no reason other than the Reapers trying to come back and wipe out everyone and everything.

If I remember correctly, she also survived another Colony where she was a sole survivor as well again.

She blames herself for the death of the 212, Though, Really it was not her fault in any way whatsoever.

She blames herself for the death of Kaidan, Which she really cant do, because as Shepard says, it was his call, not hers.

She blames herself for the death of Shepard, and somewhat rightfully so. She lets go of Shepard when she lets him go and try to save Joker, Although she is not responsible for Joker's stubbornness. Inwardly, she wonders how things could have been different if she insisted on going with John. She does blame herself for him dying.

Im trying to tackle a very sensitive issue.... Would Ashley kill herself over Shepard dying......I cant really find a good way to answer. I have to say that it is a reasonable possibility, Because I dont think she dated anyone else in the 2 years that Shep was dead. I doubt we will ever know the answer to that.....

I have to say that I do believe there is a reasonable chance that she almost did commit suicide over Shepard dying. Just because of how she could rationalize the whole thing being her fault.

Also, on a side note, two other quick things really fast.

I wrote a ME3 Fanfic that is...pretty morbid but very good, A very surprising twist at the end.

And: Ash in Armor is meh to me, but Ash on the Normandy without Armor is a 10.

Yeah BadPie, your stories were awesome quality goodness. You made me love my favourite character even more. It's a shame the Ash/Kaidan support is dwindling because of that horrible Horizon meeting, but my love won't be shaken.

yeah Ashley does suffer from a LOT of survivors guilt.

her situation must have been terrible after ME1. Shepard essentially got her over both surviving eden prime and virmire, then Shepard himself goes and dies and Ashley lives. That must have been real hard to deal with.... but I guess we know how she did it, seeing as she talks about how she prayed and read poetry to get through.

True. Everyone seems to die around her, heh. But i don't think she'd kill herself - not whilst her sisters are still alive, I don't think.

lol, who cares I say :D

I agree with almost all you say, nice to see somebody pointing out all those times in one post.

Actually considering all those times you pointed out she blamed herself or felt guilty for others dying one could say it only adds to the idea of her almost giving up.

Say for instance If you blamed yourself for a lot of people dying which also includes ones you know reasonably closely (Kaiden & her squad) you might be able to live with that although still blame yourself from time to time but then to have the one you love (Shepard) die and blame herself somewhat like you said that might very well push somebody to that point along with all the other guilt she carries. Also I would say the key part is "almost" cause she didn't obviously didn't feel strongly enough to take her own life (if she was gonna say I almost gave up) it would just means she had been thinking about it at one point and I would say I probably would at least think about it if in the same circumstances..

I still don't fully think it fits perfectly but the more I think about it the more I would be willing to believe she might of almost gave up.

Something that I did not point out, was that the only people who knew the Reapers were coming were the crew of the Normandy plus Saren, Benezia and Anderson. And Anderson does not even have solid fact, He just believes Shepard (as he should)

Can you imagine what it was like for Ashley and Garrus and Tali....knowing the end was coming for all of you (Ash does believe in a Judgement day, an end of time, But I think she does say she does not believe the Reapers are meant to bring that about....)

Knowing the end was coming for everyone and there was nothing they could do about it because they:

1. Couldnt do it

2. Did not have the resources and contact Shepard had. If you think about it, Shepard is the right man to beat the Reapers in so many different ways.

But besides survivors guilt that Ash and all of the surviving Normandy crew had, that feeling of inevitable destruction in a horrible, horrible way.....

Sorry its so short. I have Chapter 1 almost finished. I know how the plot and everything goes, this is a 4 chapter story max.

But I think the Authors note is really good.

Good evening Ash fans! Seems like the thread is picking up steam heh.

Anyway, I have a question for you all: What song (if any) represents your Shep's feelings towards Ash on and past Horizon?

For me its

Liamn7 posted the video of a loyal Shepard staring at Ash's picture with the song Broken by Seether.
