In ME1, if you choose Ash as a LI, do you get the impression that she is actually falling for Shepard, or does it seem more like a ship-board thing? I realize that in ME2 she tells Shepard (if she was your LI) that it meant a lot to her (I think she actually says the "L" word), but striking that from your memory core, do you think the ME1 storyline for her conveys that there is more then a physical attraction between the two?

I felt Shepard was interested first and Ash was playing hard to get or was trying to resist due to the Alliance rules on fraternization, but she soon fell for him and knew she wanted him as much if not more than her job.

I just wanted to say, that I was kinda sad inside after everything Ashley and mah Shep had done in ME1 to see her turn and leave me on Horizon.



It was really odd..I really had a strong feeling that something like that was a little unrealistic, although I suppose she was outraged @ Shep being in Cerberus. Still though..sad panda.

I think maybe at the very beginning it was physical for both of them.  And based on a mutual respect.  I'd say they were definitely colleagues who became friends who slowly realized that they really cared about one another. If you look at the time frame of the game, like a year or so it all works.  But during gameplay I would say that pretty early on in your conversations there is much more than physical attraction going on.

I know there are all kinds of opinions in regards to how BW handled the ME1 LI's, but I look at it this way:  Shepard was absent, presumed dead for 2 years.  That is a long time.  Things change.  Now he shows up working for a alleged terrorist organization that she despises because they had spent some time fighting them.   It's a lot to take in at one time.  The conversation seemed a bit rushed though, but I was even ok with Shepard's responses.  I mean, for him, he has only been gone overnight and now he's back in the mix.
The email helped assuage some of the hurt Shepard feels.  Ash's way (always guarded) of apologizing and revealing her feelings for Shepard.

I can agree with this.  I mean, she does open up about her family, her service record (like you wouldn't already know) and her faith to Shepard.  Most people wouldn't do that unless they felt some sort of comfort level with them.  Of course, she does talk about this stuff, or at least some of it with Shepard even if it's not a LI.
