Well, I understand their concerns so I wouldn't go so far as beneath the community, They think that asking for an alteration to existing characters would be easier on Bioware than creating entirely new gay or bi characters. *shrugs* Well, I guess you'd know this community better than I. I'm not trying to start some horribly nonproductive sexuality war (yes, I realize how incredibly risque that sounds), just think the characters deserve more respect than they're getting from some people.
