Pyro, I know Ash believes in God, but Ash cant blame Shepard for being brought back. That wasnt his choice. And Im not sure if he was DEAD dead. Jacob said he was comatosed, or worse. So, who knows. He wasnt 100% dead, considering they could bring him back.

I already owned up to my Tali fixation. I regretted not being able to romance her in ME1 and did a major double-take when Yeoman Kelly said she thought Tali wanted to be more than friends. I don't care less about Ash for this. That's the beauty of multiple characters. I think it was easy to fall for Tali in ME2 because she was the only love interest with the sort of well thought out, well scripted, and genuinely emotional romance that existed with Ash in ME1. Ash shooting Shepard down opened the door and Tali pulled him through (or me, or you). That does not diminish my support for Ash, but this time through I took a character who had been loyal to Liara and romanced Tali and will have a second character who was only loyal to Ash.

Well, I disagree about Tali but to each his own.

According to Miranda's recording, he suffered celluar damage due to long-term exposure to vacuum. He was in orbit around a planet for who knows how long. He was dead as a doornail.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you even watched him die in the cutscene where he was spaced.

He stoped moving...

Think of it from her perspective, she has faith, presumably from her appearence and name Christian(which of course means there are going to be issues about his resurrection); she has trust issues, and your working for a recognized terrorist organization. If I ever get married, she dies, and she comes back two years later working for Al-Qaida I would be rather shocked and distrusrful at first as well. Also, there are very few people who trust absolutely; no matter what they tell you.

Well, to be fair and look at the other half also think of it from Shepard's perspective (well, my Spehard's percieved perspective). After the destruction of the Normandy he suddenly awakes two years later and is thrust into a situation that he by no means likes considering that he has now been forced into the beck-and-call of what he has observed first hand to be a brutal and uncompromising terrorist organization. Realizing that he's in a position to do some much needed good but still not trusting any of the people surrounding him, he reaches out to people he can trust. People like Garrus when he finds him on Omega, and much later on Tali and, unsuccessfully, Liara and Wrex.

When he finally is reunited with Ash, the woman that he loved, she resuses to stand by him in his time of need.

And on a more superficial note, I couldn't read the letter that she sent me after Horizon on my crappy standard defenition TV, which I'm sure would have helped her regain some of the high ground.

Well, even if he was dead, the second he started getting worked on, he went into a comatosed state. At that point he was somewhat alive. I still dont think Ash should hold him being resurrected over his head, considering it wasnt his choice. Its like if I bugged Miranda about her genetic tailor, or Jack about her getting studied and tortured, it wasnt there choice so I cant say it was their fault, or hold it over them.
Just saying, I dont see how religion involves Shepard being brought back.

Fair enough. My main Shep is basically an avatar of me. He looks like me and basically acts like I would in-game. So, I would think of the Horizon encounter differently. Also, she can't join Shepard because she is military and thus leaving would be deserting. In the real world people don't trust absolutely, I think this is actually a mark in her favor.

Listen, you can work on a corpse all you like, until his heart starts beating and his mind starts working again he ain't alive. Plugging him into a machine didn't bring him back to life instantly. Also, whether something is your fault or not has nothing to do with them blaming you if they perceive it as your fault.

Alright, your point is valid, but what does religion have to do with Shepard being brought back?

Everything. Have you ever met a really religious person? Not the lieing jackasses who go to church on the weekend and say they believe but someone who actually lives it? As far as I can tell, Ash's faith is genuine. To a Christian, resurrection is a big ****ing deal. Only Jesus or certain saints have done it. It could have major ramifications to the relationship.

This makes sense, but technically, when someone is dead, and they are brought back, thats resurrection. So, if someone uses defibulators on a dead person and brings them back, or CPR or some crap like that, thats resurrection. Sure, its not long term death than revival, like Shepard, but its technically a resurrection.

Ah yes, "major ramifications"...

In all seriousness, their relationship is pretty interesting if you look at Shepard as the galaxy's Jesus.  Who does that make Ashley?

But it would have been Miranda who found the tomb empty, right? Maybe Ashley/Kaiden are Thomas. Kinda sad, that means canon favors Kaiden. I guess it does already, though, right?

Canon favors ashley actually. Default male shep saves ashley, not kaidan.
