I can't help but think that we've somehow followed a stray tangent and ended up off track

This makes sense, but technically, when someone is dead, and they are brought back, thats resurrection. So, if someone uses defibulators on a dead person and brings them back, or CPR or some crap like that, thats resurrection. Sure, its not long term death than revival, like Shepard, but its technically a resurrection.

Technicalities have nothing to do with religion. By it's very nature religion is illogical, Christians think if you are brought back in a hospital God wanted you to live. Resurrection in a religious context is the restoral of life outside of God's will.

After more research, resurrection is rising from the dead, while revival is being brought back to life. Shepard got revived, so this isnt really religous at all. Its a long term revival process, he isnt rising from the dead.

The terms are interchangeable you can be resurrected or revived in a hospital. Everything has significance to the religious.

Alright, fine, but, he is being revived, he isnt rising from the dead, like Jesus Christ. And what if God wanted him to live, so he did get brought back to life, like so? Its all up for speculation.

I had to go back several pages to find out what you were talking about. (they got a little off-topic, lol), and I recommend you make your own mind up.

I personally bounce back and forth between tali and ashley, depending on my mood.

Fair enough, the portrait is not being put face down this time around. I'm in this one for the long run.

I still want to see how Tali's relationship develops, though, so eventually I'll probably do what I did with my female Shepard that romanced Garrus; start a character "from scratch" in ME1 that'll be intended to end up with her in the long run.

Now, if ya'll excuse me, I believe modifications to my sig bar are in order...

Xtreme likes to base (start maybe?) arguments on the interpretation of a single word, I find.
Actually, a lot of people do this so its nothing against him.

I also created a single Shep to romance Jack upon her reveal.

No, I only base arguements off of word definitions on forums, because dictionary.com is handy. :P
IRL, I base arguements of facts, logic, and a little bit of yelling. ^_^

Alright, all I'm saying is to religious people nothing happens as a coincidence. The project that brought him back is called the Lazurus Project, he has Christ-figure written all over him.

You aren't religious are you pyro? Or are you? I think I asked this before but I don't remember.

Agreed, Lazarus has plenty of religious meaning, but, I just think of it as a long term revival process. Im religous, and I never thought comparing Shepard to Jesus, or any religious figure who was resurrected, made sense, or was right to do. I just think it was a revival effort, over a long period of time.

Ah, that explains it. Don't always rely on dictionarys, the language is ever-changing after all! My doctor mother rarely speaks of reviving someone. I've heard her talk to her friends at work and they use resurrect just as frequently as revive.
