You aren't religious are you pyro? Or are you? I think I asked this before but I don't remember.

Oh, no. I'm a dirty heathen.Image IPB
I just went to Catholic school. They are very good at indoctrinating us.

Agreed, Lazarus has plenty of religious meaning, but, I just think of it as a long term revival process. Im religous, and I never thought comparing Shepard to Jesus, or any religious figure who was resurrected, made sense, or was right to do. I just think it was a revival effort, over a long period of time.

Ah, I see. I'm an agnostic(or atheist when I'm in a bad moodImage IPB).
Many fictional heroes bear resemblance to Messiah figures. Shepard just more so than others, especially Paragon Shep.Image IPB

I'm surprised that every student coming out of catholic school doesn't hate religion.

Yeah, he does resemble one, but I dont think its right to compare his being brought back to Jesus's ressurection. He was brought back, but I dont think this was religiously wrong.

Off topic, I thought it was spelt aetheist. : l

On a related note, I am just loving the intense debate that I managed to start by accident.

Oh, I don't hate religion itself. I don't much care what you believe. I do dislike organized religion though, people are easily corrupted and turn dogmatic in the blink of an eye.

Say no more, I will drop it. To those of us of a less religious bent though the similarities are uncanny.
On the off-topic subject,: Yep, it's Atheist, "a-" is a prefix meaning "without".

What do you mean by organized religion?
Just throwing it out, I dislike people who flaunt their religion constantly. Its fine to tell me what you believe, but dont go around preaching your religion to the world. We dont really wanna hear it. Its like when a jewish person constantly reminds me he is a jew, I get the point. <_<

I think it was more my fault. And I'm actually Catholic myself. Unfortunately I have a bit of a literary analysis fault in me, and the Bible is one of the oldest pieces of lit, right? Odd, being a CS major...

Anyway. About that Ashley.

When you said "About that Ashley", it reminded me of Shadows Ash butt pics, which reminded me of my "dat ass" picture. :P

Despite what your catholic school tried to teach you, you don't need to do all that stuff (you know what I'm talking about) to be a christian. I haven't been to church in years and I'm still a christian. I just read my bible, discuss it with my family on occasion and try to live a morally good life.

I think a lot of agnostics or atheists (there are no atheists really), get turned off initially because they think they need to jump through a bunch of hoops in order to be a Christian. Attending Church or the Catholic way of worship is perfect for some, but I don't think that has anything to do with faith.

The power structures within a church, many people abuse their power when they have the ability to tell someone whether they're going to hell or not. I dislike people preaching at others, especially when they've never truly lived. How are you supposed to cousel me when you've been a priest since you were 18?

That's perfectly fine. I lost my faith for reasons I shall not discuss and I doubt I'll ever get it back. I dislike people telling me I have no sense of morality simply because I don't believe in God though. I'm not looking to become religious again.

In my opinion, this is wrong. Some priest cant say to me, "Son, you're going to heaven/hell". Thats Gods job. Its like in LOST, Richard killed a man, on accident, and begged for forgiveness,  and the priest didnt take it and flat out said "You're going to hell.".IMO no one has the right to tell you this.
