Agreed, Lazarus has plenty of religious meaning, but, I just think of it as a long term revival process. Im religous, and I never thought comparing Shepard to Jesus, or any religious figure who was resurrected, made sense, or was right to do. I just think it was a revival effort, over a long period of time.
Ah, I see. I'm an agnostic(or atheist when I'm in a bad mood
).
Many fictional heroes bear resemblance to Messiah figures. Shepard just more so than others, especially Paragon Shep.
Despite what your catholic school tried to teach you, you don't need to do all that stuff (you know what I'm talking about) to be a christian. I haven't been to church in years and I'm still a christian. I just read my bible, discuss it with my family on occasion and try to live a morally good life.
I think a lot of agnostics or atheists (there are no atheists really), get turned off initially because they think they need to jump through a bunch of hoops in order to be a Christian. Attending Church or the Catholic way of worship is perfect for some, but I don't think that has anything to do with faith.
