You're focusing on too narrow a time-frame. Think back... back to the first game.

If there are more reapers flying around in ME3 betrayal could easily come from a love interest or comrade who had become indoctrinated, then "rescued". Maybe some means of curing indoctrination could be discovered and implemented as part of the story line. Then the betrayer would have to deal with the aftermath of what they had done. Lot of good possible interaction that could come from that.

I stayed out of that discussion because religion can bring out strong feelings and I wanted to think about it some more before jumping in. At this point I don't see how it can be argued that Shepard is not "Christ-like". Note I am not saying he is Christ or the second coming, but rather there are aspects of his character and experience that are specifically designed to make him Christ-like. He is generally regarded by many in the game as a larger than life, superhuman figure. He did not rise from the dead on his own, but did come back with the help of the hound that is supposed to prevent people from leaving the underworld(to get non-Christian for a moment). When Ashley Williams, who is herself a person of faith and possibly Christian, first sees Shepard she describes him to the colonist as SAVIOR of the Citadel and a GOD (not the God, but a god). An actual person might have simply produced that hyperbole, but Bioware wrote that and reviewed it. So now, having come back from the dead, Shepard(Shepherd?) gathers his twelve apostles(with the addition of Kasumi) and is flying around the galaxy beating Roman ass(the big collector beast is called a Praetorian, I think). Yeah, this stuff isn't happening in the same order as for Christ, some of this could just be coincidental, etc., and people are always allowed their opinion, but it seems really clear that there are an awful lot of things that reference or suggest a Christ-like character. Feel free to disagree.

Oops, quick edit.  There is plenty of speculation on the forums about who would be Shepard's betrayer in ME3.  Some almost think it is a given that it will occur and would further mesh with that aspect of Christ imagery.

Wow, you really took what I said to heart didn't you? I'm just interested in literature so I notice a lot of fictional heroes bear resembalance to Messianic figures. But yeah, I can see their are a lot of similarities there. Not sure I agree with everything but you bring up some very interesting posts.

Yeah, plus the betrayal would have to come before Shep died.

It's okay yfhfrg....I'm already planning the march on Canada if BioWare doesn't do our favorite LI's justice...That's right. I'm holding the ENTIRE country responsible if I don't get my Kai Kai back.

That all depends on whether the ME1 characters come back as squadmates.

I really hope they don't do the betrayal thing. It would really seem to be coming out of nowhere based on the knowledge of characters we have right now imo. And if it's Ash....there will be hell to pay bioware. hell I say.

I don't see our teamates turning on us but I could see Udina, the Council, or even Anderson turning on us if they thought necessary.

My money is on Anderson. He fits the standard bioware betrayal bill nicely. It won't be a LI.

There are now 12 squadmates in ME2 with the dlc. Who knows what ME3 will bring.



The betrayal from ME1 was Udina's betrayal? I expect there could be a worse betrayal coming. That one feels more like a warm-up.
