I hate to change subjects so abruptly but something has been really bothering me lately. Remember the conversation you have with ash on horizon. She says " I thought you were dead. I almost..." This is just me speculating but it sounds like she almost commited suicide after shepard died. It makes sense. Why else would she react so emotionally after seeing shepard? Because she almost killed herself to be with him and he doesn't act that glad to see her.

The thread covered this a while back (page 70 or so). Opinions differ, some think she contemplated suicide and others thought she almost quit the Alliance, etc. I personally believe she may have considered killing herself after Shepard's death.

Actually, we were talking about that earlier in the thread - several ideas came up besides the obvious one - "Almost gave up on God" "Almost quit the Alliance" "Almost gave up." - I think that was it... did I miss out any guys?

Seems like punishment for him to have to think of Ashley getting married. The whole white wedding dress, with lots of lace, a long train, and  a real pretty veil. Might have been more than his head could take.

                ........ let my grief overwhelm me

I don't see Ash as the suicide type

Almost started dating again. No offense but that doesn't make quite an emotional impact as the rest... Nevermind, thinking about Ash with some scrub guy makes me sick.

I took it as a "almost lost it" vibe.  After playing through Horizon, I ended up tweaking a fanfic I had been working on to play with that idea just a bit.

Yeah, as deeply religious as she is, I can't see Ashley committing suicide. Then again, she didn't seem to have any problem with sex before marriage, so who knows?

Thats what I said too. That said, sometimes people surprise you, I suppose...but still, I find it...improbable.

The way I perceived it was that she simply almost gave up. Her faith in God, her ability to fight for the alliance...basically her ability to live. Not saying she contemplated suicide, but she definitely had some time where she was lost in life. I fully understand that, which makes it all the more frustrating and confusing when she basically gives you the "screw off Shepard" when you tell her to join you, even after you tell her you don't like Cerberus. The way I came out of Horizon was "So she just admitted she loved me, and didn't feel complete without me, I come back into her life, and she doesn't want to be near me. Perfect."

I almost,....  might have meant she thought about it.  Not that she tried to do it and failed. I could see Ash getting that upset to think about. 

Ditto on that. Nobody can see her committing suicide, and she didn't. But that still leaves room to wonder if she considered it.

Poor lass was confused, she's spent 2yrs getting over you and then you randomly show up!  Would have thrown you too especially since bringing people back to life is hardly common place what the hell is she supposed to think?

Agreed - I mean, sure it's annoying when it happens on Horizon, but  thats sort of the point - it would be ALITTLE inconvinant to have a break in a relationship due to 2 years of being clinically dead, heh.
