No, not necessarily. The memories are only stored once a platform reconnects with the other geth and shares those memories. If it never reconnects and you kill it, then those memories are lost for good.... period. Even with that being said, there is some form of separation between individual geth programs that allows them to all know the same thing but not necessarily agree about it as evidenced by Legion's inability to come to a consensus about the use of the Heretic virus. Whether you want to believe it or not, each Geth program is an "individual".

Well, if unimportant people made them what does that make them?
The Quarians have a rich culture and also deserve to be kept safe.
Hope for peace and upper left blue. I'm done.

Well there goes my theory. I thought they were all connected to each other all the time.
You got it confused with if they are within close proximity with eachother. In that case, they are connected all the time.
I'm personally going to need to side with pyro. Legion is clearly starting to show signs of emotion (when you board the heretic base and he calls out your name). It appears the geth are becoming something more. I can't justify killing an entire race, even if it's to save ash.

True. Not just a Shepard fangirl, but an equal partner. (hopefully in me3)
This is one of the things I like about Ash (an some ways, Miranda too). She is not a fangirl. She doesn't fawn all over Shep. In a lot of ways, she is more real then some of the other characters in the game.
It's my opinion that in ME1, Bioware was almost force feeding you a relationship with Liara by the way she talked to Shep and "fell" for him. In ME2, I feel they did the same thing with Tali. It was almost like they were pushing you to have your Shep romance her.
Ashley took work. They gave you the impression that she was a bigot, something you had to "peel away the layers" from. She was sassy, so you had to get over yourself while playing if you wanted to romance her. It wasn't "easy". On the other hand Liara was pretty easy....not much to get over. The character had a nice personality, was young and innocent, was fascintated with Shep from the beginning.
As far that thread goes, it's typical knee-jerk reactions to superficial character dialogue without exploring it. I did the same thing 2 years ago when I first played ME1. After an open-minded play through my entire opinion of Ashley changed. It all has to do with how you like to play the game is all.
My apologies if y'guys have already discussed this to death (I've been away all day with no time to catch up, and will be away all weekend), but Raanz, I just want to say I agree with you 200%. You made exactly the points I would have made.

I could say Ashley was critical in helping me to save the universe, and although basic logic would dictate she should die to save millions, without her help, billions would have been killed by the reapers.
Life is only as useful as what you do with it, one person who saves the world will always be worth more than 100 people who do nothing.

I think the military might of the geth is more important than a single soldier, no matter how good she is and how well she fills out her armor.RazerPhoenix wrote...
If I can toss in my opinion here, it's all very well to pose questions such as "Tali or the Geth" or "Ashley or the Geth", but it isn't that straightforward.

Just curious, as we seem to have nosedived into philosophy here, do you consider yourself a utilitarian pyro? You seem like one to me.
