Dunno if the rules apply if Ash get's promoted to a Non-commissioned officers though, it may be possible then but not sure. Ash is an NCO, according to the Alliance rank codex on the Mass Effect wiki - "Gunnery Chief" is the 2nd level NCO.

If Shep is returned to Alliance service without Spectre Status, They could get court marshaled and thrown out of the Alliance.



But then people would get really, really mad at the Alliance....Think about that for a second, He just presumably saved everyone from oblivion and wants to marry his lover of....4 or 5 years? And now they want to kick them out because of it? That sounds like a really, really bad story.



But, the Alliance DOES lie about stuff quite a bit or removes the facts from issues. They even went with the Council's cover story of Sovreign being a rouge Geth capital ship. The only people who knew the truth were there, And there were not very many civilians.



The Alliance would likely use a story like this: Alliance Traitor's Williams and Shepard kicked out.

Im actualy happy Bioware made Shep die at the start now if that makes a Ash and Shep marriage possible. Funny if she still calls him Shepard if they got married lol! I guess Skipper is his first name now.

I'd like Ashley back, but as long as they don't do that no romance, no dialogue thing. My Shepard was female, so I didn;t romance her, but still found her to be a great character.

The Alliance aren't as bad as the council, its true, but yes, I can see them kicking out Williams and Shepard IF Shepard is viewed as a rogue spectre in ME2.

Ash doesn´t pose for photographs. She was probably on a mission gunning down Batarians when the photo was taken.

Probably my favorite non-combat moment of the game.  It's as though Shepard is reminding himself of what he is fighting for.  For me, this made it feel more personal.  Yes, the galaxy is at stake...but I'm doing this to protect Ash!

but so we're clear, Bioware, I dont want another picture in ME3. I'm done with pictures. Pictures cant pump reapers full of shotgun shells. Time for the real deal.
