Personally, I'm hoping that in ME3 you get the option to recruit whoever's survived both ME1 and ME2 into your crew - up to a limit (of about a dozen or so I'd imagine, given the Normandy's size). We don't really need new characters in the third game and I see no reason to treat the ME1 crew with any less reverence than the ME2 crew.

Hell, I would be unhappy if BioWare cut Liara/Kaidan/Ashley out of ME3 and I'm a pretty content fan of the ME2 romances. I'm pretty convinced, however, that BioWare's not going to do this - not unless people push them to put the game out really quickly, in which case they're going to have to cut corners.

Same, if order to survive you need two people. So Liara and Ash/Kaidan and the two from M2. Theres your squad, and theres your punishment for killing the characters off for no reason.

"My name is Bioware and I am going to waste more money and resources to make new characters, that most likely will not be liked from the fans and get more VAs even tho we already have fantastic ones. We could just use the old VAs and characters as squadmates, but lets ****** of the fans and have a whole new squad, while we are at it, lets kill Shepard again!"

It has been rumored that Ashley will make an appearance in Mass Effect 3 and players that keep her as a romance interest (as indicated by her portrait on Shepard's desk not being face down) in Mass Effect 2 will be rewarded.

Yea, seems pretty absurd to hire high profile voice actors like Yvonne and not use them. Bioware invested a lot of money into these characters, ditching them would be stupid.
Yvonne would not do a cameo, she is not a cheap VA, thats why if Miranda is in the game, she will be a squadmate or Yvonne won't do it. She is not like Steve Blum who would do a cameo.

Well, Bioware said big plans for ME1 romances, so unless they were talking about some massivley big way to kill them off, than I think we will be fine. If a romance has to go, we can already count on Thane, and Jack and Jacob have less supporters than us, so we wouldnt be at the bottom of the chopping block.Da Shadow Master wrote...

I hope you're right kraidy.
Just gpoing by how she is. Like if ME2 was made three years ago where Yvonne was not that well knowen then most likely she would most likely be a cameo, but Yvonne is making a name for her self. While some people might not like Chuck, thats what realy got her famous in NA.

Oblivion isn't known for having the best voice acting...I still find it incredibly funny that nearly everyone of the same race sounds exactly the same.

Patrick Stuart was not at the prime of his career at that time, Yvonne is.Yvonne is a young actress and a high profile one at that, who is in her prime.
