The first one looks weird because his crotch looks like a females. The second one looks kind of homosexual, which only a good thing if you are into that kind of thing.
As for the basic premise, if you want sexy outfits for men, I'm perfectly fine with that. More sexy outfits all around I say.

As long as they keep it optional I have no reason to say no to it

While personally I would rather have everyone look professional, being a deputy squad commander myself, I can't say no to wishing one of the outfits to be more sexy, it's up to the player to use it after that.

I'm the same way... I'm actually not much for the female style of the chestplates, but I still like them.

Any extra armour pieces is good, afterall, if you don't like it, you have other pieces to choose from.

I think the menshep/males in general already are sexifyed. The Firefly outfit shows off Shep's biceps and schexy abs. I personally think most of the armours look very gratifying on Malesheps.
Then we have guys like Thane with their... nice... male tight outfits... yeah.
See, I didn't think so. I thought the female version of that outfit showed off the abs, lowerback, butt, and boobs quite a bit. So they are on equal terms in my mind.
I was more trying to speak in the context of what you're posting about here, though. Wanting something like, say, Miranda's boobsuit for FemShep? Or like the picture you posted in the opener. The male equivalent to those armors/casual wear would need men to run in g-strings or with their leather pants so tight you see virtually every bulge and with their upper consisting of a vest with nothing underneath.
I am okay with sexy outfits and I am okay with objectification, I just don't want females to be the only ones getting the treatment.
Of course, I still had trouble wrapping my brain around the new 'outfit' mechanic we have for ME2. Boobsuits and less for women, while everyone except Thane has bulky armor/armor pieces that look almost practical in a future firefight? Uh-huh... suuure. And that's the tilting hand showing itself already, which is what concerns me.
Hmm...the female version of the firefly outfit is the farmer looking one right? It's the second to last choice. It's terribly unappealing, I'm not even sure how you could think otherwise. It shows nothing. Abs, butt, boobs and back? Are you kidding? They are overalls. Brown overalls. She looks like she's about to till the field.
Hate to toss a wench in your "female objectification" spiel but Tali is fully clothed and armored just like she was in ME1. So not all the females are in "boob suits". Strange coincidence that as the female with the most on, she's also one of the most liked. Males, you dastardly deviants.

So, I can imagine that not all females will agree with me, but I personally like my PC to look hawt. Like cleavage/azz/curvaceous kinda hawt. Not 'cause I am a guy who enjoys playing female PCs just so I can stare at their lovely behind, but because well, it can be empowering and all that jazz.
I get the whole army commander thingo, but... do you think you could... iunno... maybe... make a few armours a little more... yeah? She isn't really military anymore, and why the heck not? I loved the face masks Samara and Jack wear. They look so pretty. What if my femshep likes to look schexy? I could try and retexture Miranda's or Samara's suit and put it as a full armour overwrite. Hrm. Alas, I don't have the skills. I do wish my Shep could have a bit more of an edge sometimes. I always make my armour dark red
So, anyone else agree? Would you like to see some sexy femshep casual or non-casual armour? Is this a stupid question? Will Lucy finally explode into little jelly pieces that taste like apple and blueberries??
:3
If people want it, then fine, but I will never even think about equipping something like that. I think it's awesome that she looks like a soldier and not a stripper.

But as for how she looks when she's in combat?
All I can say is that the tech armor makes femshep look totally BAMF.

This uniform neither provides enough protection against gunfire nor is it rated for vacuum...your Shepard would have died in the first 30 seconds of the game when exposed to vacuum

No. If my female is a soldier in the military she should look like a soldier. I don't want her looking like some barbie doll. >_> Being attractive is one thing, being fetish fuel and wearing skimpy armor is another.
Though it wouldn't kill to have a dress/skirt alternate outfit.
If you want some clothing more to your style. Go play Oblivion or Fallout 3 and mod it to your hearts content. Or possibly something else.

Remember people, choice is a good thing. If you don't want to wear an outfit like that than don't. Just because you don't want it in game doesn't mean jack to everyone else. Wear what you want to wear, and other people can wear what they want to wear.

And I agree(been burned on this topic already.). I think it kills the point of commander Shepard, I think it's offensive. BUT, if people want to have the option, then fine, I don't have to play shep like that. It makes me uncomfortable, but I tolerate it. HERE THAT BRAHLIS/KALFEAR/DEATHCULTARM/ANGRYTIGER/ETC ETC ETC!?

In all seriousness I'd rather see substantial gameplay content in the form of new planets, new missions and drivable vehicles.

You can also create your own story in that game, filled with drama, betrayal and all the sex you want.
Frankly, I'm pretty sick of female game characters being dressed up like ****s simply for the benefit of teenage boys.
I like the fact that fem shep dresses like a soldier.
