You guys do really have weird tastes here.. She has the perfect mature, but definetly not "old", voice for a world saving hottie.. O_o

Really.. What kind of teen ****es are you idolizing, with their helium voices?

They Have to look and sound like the hentai-ish chicks in Dead or Alive before they're considered "real women"

They haven't spent 3 months getting Shep's breast physics just right so she's not really a girl.

Did you just say Dead or Alive and then breast physics just right? Seriously? They take one step and jiggle for a week.

It's not their boobs jiggling for weeks.. It's the world jiggling around them.

It's just right for the guys who find Shep too masculine for them yes.

It just wouldn't be believable if her voice was as high as Miranda's, Liara's or Yeoman's. She's a leader and a strong woman, she commands authority. But she doesn't sound like a butch lesbian stereotype. Agree to disagree I guess...

the only thing worse than femshep's voice is maleshep's voice. yikes.

even though i've played me1 a few times and am on second run of me2, i just heard male shep's voice for the first time a few days ago. and i was horrified.

They should have gotten the guy that plays Nathan Drake in the Uncharted games to do it. That guy can voice act his @ss off.

Oh HELL no!  Her voice is ultra sexy!  What do you want some Paris Hilton sounding ****?

No, but I'd rather it did sound SO mature. As it's extremely hard to picture that voice coming out of most of the head models you can make for the female character, without giving her grey hair. I simply don't think it  fits. As a male however, it's not sexy...anything but.

*Sigh*

Yep, that guy was right. Fem****'s.

No not yet. So far everyone in favour of Femshep has been reasonable.

FemShep in german and english is very mature but butchy? lol it sounds like everyone with a voice deeper than a female fighter from DoA is a lesbian stereotype. Not everyone wants to play as a japanese schoolgirl.

And Steve Valentine to voice a sweet, dorky space templar on top of it   All the more rabid Alistair fangirls would instantly run for ME2.

The trouble with FemShep and MaleShep is that they have to voice lines with enough emotion for the player to be engaged, but enough ambiguity that the player can read other emotions into the lines fitting with how they roleplay their particular Shepard.  It's a very hard thing to do, and they did a pretty damn good job.  I think the voice work of both actors got better from ME1 to ME2, though Jennifer Hale is still a stronger VA.

Or every woman's voice is softer than a career groin-kicker sounds like a Japanese school girl.

Jennifer Hale is 39 years old, I am not sure if she smokes, but whatever she does her voice sounds so damn sexy.

I'd bet that she doesn't. That voice is her career. Trash it by smoking and she's done.

The assumption that "Lower voice" and "Japanese School Girl voice" are the only types of female voices in the world is beginning to annoy me. I personally wouldn't have minded something like Morigans voice in DA, or any one of the voice actors used in KOTOR..

FemShep's voice is awesome. Far better than MaleShep's, which I'd label as "adequate, but not more".

Anyone of the voice actors from KotoR? Like maybe the one who voices Bastilla? Oh wait, too late.

Seriously, in ME1 I was shocked the first time I played a manshep simply because his voice acting was horrendous. If it's the same guy he's certainly improved a lot, found a solid direction and there's actually some nuance to his voice this time.

But Hale is by far the better actor. There is a medium between gruff butch lady and petite japanese school girl and Hale hit it rather well. Leaning a bit closer to the gruff side but (Especially when played as a paragon) has this fragility to her performance...

She doesn't have as overpowering a personality as many of the other cast members, but that's because Shephard needs a lot of ambiguity to be able to move between paragon and renegade from line to line seamlessly. Which is something else this game has done really well, I remember it being very jarring on my first ME1 renegade playthrough to have this gruff threat followed by polite questions because I wanted some information.

As for Claudia Black (Morrigan), she's already got a small role in ME2 and I'm guessing from that she will be a major player in ME3 but not going to spoil it.

PS - Totally off topic but Claudia Black also has a brilliant gruff voice that is entirely feminine, I love watching that girl act.

Oh hey, being an ass, now that's something new <_<

If Hale did bastila then great, they don't need a new voice actor, just a better voice. I honestly didn't like it in the slightest. I quit my female play through because I couldn't stand it. It was that bad in my opinion, and given some of the replies here, I'd say more then a few people agree with me.

The actual answer to this would be to allow choice of voices. Course that would be expensive.

Gotta love how this community though likes to beat on the opinion that differs from their own.

Right. The voice is perfect in both languages.

I think most every reply you got was very reasonable. It seems to me you just hoped for a majority to agree with you, which obviously wasn't the case.

It's alright if you dislike the voice. It's a perfectly valid opinion. Most people think it's great however, which means that your movement to have it replaced for ME3 is likely to fail. That's all.

I find Hales voice perfect, I guess it's a matter of taste. But to be honest, I've never been able to play through ME1 beacuse of MaleSheps voice. I'll probably not even try this time. So I think they've done an excellent job, seeing how people like eiher the male or female voice and no one dislikes them both?

Actually read the first page if you haven't, some of the messages have been less then nice. The first post also tells a tale that I didn't expect people to agree with me, otherwise I wouldn't have asked if I was the only one who thought so.

No, hate Male Shep's voice to, sounds like someone went through went through voice acting with a peg on their nose trying to be as monotone as possible. But Male Shep's voice never forced me to quit a playthrough. ME2's femaleshep did.
