I posted this in the general forums, but it's so busy, my post gets driven down to page two in minutes, so I'll try it here.

I know that when you complete the game, a special save file is generated.  Is that one file for each completion, or one file for each career that completes?  In another words, if I go back to a previous save, then complete the game again using the same character/career (this is NOT a new game, but replaying the end of the same game), do I
get a new safe file to import?

When I eventually import into ME 3, does it use the special save file as it represents my character at
the end of the story line, or will it use the most recent save if I continue the story and pick up DLC, more levels, etc.?

If I start a NG+ with my current ME2 character, can I still go to a previous save and continue the old career?  I would have saves for the same character, but spanning to instances of the game.  Anyone try that?

Thanks.

NG+ starts a brand new career, so the saves are under different sections for the NG+ and original play through.

When importing your game into NG+ it lets you pic the career and then lists the post end game saves for that career, allowing you to import one that might actually be a higher level than when you beat the game. I imagine the same system will be in place for ME3

What if I complete the game on career 1, then go back to a previous save and complete it again, but with different choices? Do I have two importable results?

EDIT:  Also, in ME 1, when I started a NG+ with an imported character, I was using the same set of save slots.  So, I have saves for the original career and the NG career.  Can I switch back and forth between them?  Is that how it works in ME 2?

Thanks.

1. You should have two importable results, yes. When you pick your career it will list all of the saved games you have which are AFTER the end game event in that career. I haven't tried this example personally, but from what I've seen it should work that way.

It is not the same set of save slots, it will be it's own career slot. (pretty sure on that one I'd have to check to be totally sure.)

So... I can import my ME2 into a NG+ AND continue my original ME2 career in DLC, if I want to?

Sorry to be so specific. While the game wasn't really hard, I really don't want to screw up and have to play it again because I messed up my preferred decision tree.
