Drain shield! Haven't considered this. How is the cool down? Right now I'm using charge then Fortify shielding myself. Feels like its off. I want the abilities to integrate.

Energy Drain is kinda my favorite right now.  It has half the cooldown time that Barrier/Fortification/Geth Shield do, and it eats through bots and enemy shields really well when you max it out.  I never used Charge very much, though, so I dunno if it's the best choice for a Vanguard.  It's perfect for an Adept, though, which I'm going to use on my next playthrough.

Closing to point blank range to handle anything is what the Vanguard is all about. If you like keeping at range you'd be better off playing something else. For the in your face fighting the Vanguard is about, the more shields the better.


It's something that Vanguards can do, yes, but to suggest that they solve every situation by simply being right in it's face is essentially absurd.

Again, I've never understood why people see Charge and instantly assume that no matter what kind of situation the Vanguard is in, it must deal with it by standing in front of it.

Am I to charge Collossi, perhaps? :whistle:

Believe it or not, Vanguards can also fight at range. I know, outrageous.

Personally, I just stuck with the first I got. Zheed's fire grenade. Not to bad, plus it works against... Armor, I think. Maybe shields. Either way, something most biotics don't work against.

I've been going with barrier because i keep getting shot in the face. so whenever my shields go away i pop a barrier and it pops back up. I was a champion so my barrier rechared extremeley fast. the only downside is that i used my guns more than my powers so i crippled myself a bit. I wish charge did more damage. it seems weak to me =(

That's why I took Reave. I wanted a biotic power for RP reasons but I was getting sick of Scions.

Yea the damage done to HP heals you but its fairly slight. Can give you an edge at just the right moment though.
