I tried posting this in the proper forum section, but this site will not allow me (like always!!!!)  so forgive me, but this is the only section the site lets me post in......SPOILERS BELOW for elven ritual

I am in the Brecillian Ruins trying to perform the Elven Ritual and my game will not allow me complete it.  I do have the Carved Elven Tablet which gives the instructions.  I filled the jug up with water and took it to the nearby altar so I can place it on there and pray before it, blah, blah, blah. 

However, everytime i examine the altar all it says is "There is an indent on the surface of this altar where something can be placed".  However, it will not let me place the jug there.  I do have the filled water jug in my inverntory.   Anyone else have this problem??? And how do i fix it?
