I don't necessarily want any sort of sex scene, but one I romanced Tali... I just expected a little bit more. At the end of the game, I ended up really caring for her. I went into ME2 with the idea that I would be staying with Ashley, but I really felt a stronger connection to Tali, I don't want her to just jump on me and that's it.
I want to hug her and kiss her and all of those sorts of things. So while I don't necessarily want any sort of nudity or sex scene (though it wouldn't bother me at all, just like in ME1, Bioware did it in a very tasteful way), I just felt like it needed a little but more. I was left a bit unsatisfied.
Still, getting to know Tali better and having her jump on me in the first place was great, don't get me wrong. I'm just nit-picking and contributing

You are absolutely correct. It is not our job to parent the child or determine what content is acceptable or unaceptable for our players. But on the other hand, it is not your jobe to dictate what content we include or don't include in our games. Game development is not a collaborative effort between developers and gamers; it is a dictatorship, where we alone determine what content goes into our game. You the player make the choice whether that content is acceptable to you (and/or your family) or not.
As far as Content goes its the
community that dictates what should be added. You wont have a budget
to make the games if no one will buy them. Don't think just because
you turn out good games that your allowed to treat your community
like crap cause there are plenty of failing companies out there that
had the same thoughts. On the subject though I do think sex and
nudity is some thing that should make go with the story line there is
a thin line between porn and great works with sexual content. If
there is to much sex in a game it just wont sell there is enough porn
in the world as it is there are not alot of good RPG games. I think
that Dragon Age had the right mix enough mature content that i didn't
feel like a child being sheltered but not so much that I was watching
a Porn movie. So if you want more mature content there are plenty of
games or movies that you can find what your looking for else ware
please don't cave to the children.
Agrred. Although I wouldn't say that they are treating us like Crap... YET.. But it is certainly a warning sign. I hope they take back that statement.

I'm 36 and I hope that no matter how old I get I don't become so 'mature' that I don't like boobs any more.
I'm really getting a kick though out of seeing Bioware try to pretend that not having nudity in ME2 wasn't simply a marketing decision designed to appease the media and sell more copies to kids with parents that believe boobs are the devil.

I believe that's what it was which is fair , when you decide to have nude scenes you can only show so much.I'm betting the first time they had to cut/edit some of the scenes just to make the M rating , not wanting to go through the headache again they toned them down.
Simple as that, their always hope for 3 maybe.Nudity in games (which is fine if done the right , fine by me) is tricky to pull off without someone saying evil game or a sex training tool.If your buying an M-rated game hopefully their some maturity male or female that you have about yourself.

I do feel that the post-coital conversation was missing from Mass Effect 2. I like the little chat afterwards in the first game. I would rather have that than calling your paramour up to your quarters that is in the second game. While I like the idea of continuing your relationship, I'd rather that be covered in conversations. That section feels tacked on and hollow.
Overall, though, I liked the Mass Effect 2 scenes better than the ones in Dragon Age: Origins. Of course, the ones in the latter hit a couple of my pet peeves. For one, as a history buff, I'm always thrown off by modern-style underwear in a fantasy setting. All the other clothes are based on Medievel models, but the underwear looks like a Victoria Secrets leather line. Also, the waking up the next morning fully clothed bugs me, and it happens on TV all the time. All it would take is some creative camera cuts to create the illusion that someone got out of bed nude and got dressed. I don't need to see the nudity, but I want the illusion maintained. It is funny to think that afterwards you got up, put on full plate armor and then went to sleep.
Still, BioWare can't make everyone happy, so the best they can do is make the content they want.

A little off-topic, but...
It's so hard and painful to read some of these damned forums posts... the horrible grammar, lack of sentence structure, constant run-ons, spelling...
I'm not saying everyone needs to be a grammar ****... but damn... try to make your posts at least quasi-readable for chrissake? It seriously looks like retarded monkeys are typing some of them.

I was really surprised how tame ME2 was after having played Dragon Age Origions. You'd think that game would have gotten much more flak for it's romance scenes and partner variety.
So then why did they lose their quads for ME2?
The game is 17+ please treat it as such in all areas. I hope this changes for ME3 and we have romance scenes more similar to ME1. It's not just about eye candy either. When I buy a 17+ game I expect that game to treat me like an adult. Especially, when romance plays a major role in the game.

Games are moving in that direction but you won't see a change until the older generation views become come less and newer generations become the new perception. The big problem I think is this
M-rating / A-rating it helps separate games but it's one of the reason some want a new videogame rating system. They want something like an M-rating that would vary and be the highest instead A for Adult , then you could probably get away with what's on HBO/SHOWTIME.

I am 43, I have been married for 15 years, have no kids, my wife and I have well paying jobs and most importantly are gamers. When I buy a game I usually have to buy 2 copies since we both have our own PCs, and share a common interest. I do realize that we are not your common market, we are the oddity, but we are still here. I understand that I have you at a disadvantage in that you can not out right tell me to ****** off provided of course the conversation remains civil. I have been on these boards promoting romance choices both in major and minor NPCs with no regard to orientation, as I feel that is an aspect of life beyond my purview. I have come to realize that my earlier calls for total wide open adult content is not feasible at least this day in age. I also have mentioned in posts that adult DLC with a more "R" rated content would for the most part be an acceptable compromise. I do realize the difficulties you would face in the event that this content was released in the mass market game as such I have no desire to put you on the spot by demanding the content be available in the released game. I am perfectly willing to pay extra for this DLC content, as I realize that this content will not be acceptable for everyone again another choice for the player.
I do think to dismiss this out of hand with out any investigation on your part would be a dis service to, your customers, your stock holders, to the fiscal health of your company. A company should be willing to explore any new revenue streams considering that most of the development has already been done for the product the potential for extra capitol captured by this content should not be passed up. I do not feel the harsh tones you have used in some of your earlier replies are warranted even in the face of obvious immaturity. As a gamer for longer than some of your development team has been out of diapers, I do realize there are a few Adult oriented games on the market. Their problem is they are all adult content and no game. I would like my push for a happy medium where I can have a quality game with some adult leaning content even if that content cost as much as the original title price, cost for me is irrelevant this is a hobby and for the most part by comparison an inexpensive one. I do not feel it is too much to ask that a poll be taken by Bioware for the faithful to determine if there is enough interest in an adult "R" rated content to make it feasible for your company to consider development.

I have weighed in on this topic several times before and will continue to weight some more. I am not going to take the developers or anyone to task I am just going to say my piece and be done with it. It has no bearing from my perspective, what absentee parents FOX CNN or any other irresponsible entity has to say concerning nudity in video games this is from my perspective only. First Mr. Developer you used some strong words in that game design is a dictatorship, to which I completely agree, but you must also realize that as a consumer I also am a dictatorship. The blade if you will cuts both ways except, you NEED me, where as a consumer I choose you, your product if not appealing, or delivering what I as a consumer desire it will collect dust on a shelf. This is not a threat just a statement of reality more or less to remind you of the proper perspective. While you feel game design is a dictatorship, as with any dictatorship you still need the support of a power base, we your customers, are that power base, and you can choose to ignore us, at your own peril.

On one hand we have the lore: we get to go to the worst place in the galaxy, hive of the galaxies scum, absolute freedom (if you have the creds, guns and power to get away with it), where sex and drugs are supposed to be a way of life and the murder rate can crush the economy because of the bets placed on it (listen to omegas radio station for a while); in 2 instances we get to hear about people getting raped (without using the word rape), torture, evil experiments, people getting melted, and so on.
And on the other hand you have the visual representation: Omega seems quite clean and tamed for it's reputation, all you see are some batarians and vorcha scavenging around (but hey, one is a terrorist race, the other are little more then pests), strippers that are more dancers and quite well dressed, no sex, no drugs, no freedom (can you kill anyone in the main Omega area?), no open murder, nothing to mark it as a place of evil but an entry in the codex, so nothing.
I'm not saying show us sex, rape and brains on the walls (although you get that from head shots in battle but no gore) but keep true to the lore damn it, as things are the only thing that makes omega visually worse the Ilium is the light tone, the number of strippers (which look exactly like the ones from the citadel the first time around) and some dirt. Jack is supposed to be the worse of the worse, and we only get to see her as a trouble kid, and so on.
Also, while i may not have had sex 2 hours before a suicide mission I'm quite sure you don't bother with foreplay at that point especially if you like the other person a lot, also you try to spend as much time as possible with the other person... so either tame it all down or show it all, don't say something is like this and show it to be different.
P.S. it may be just me be but this game seems a bit more racist as well, anyone remember seeing any evil human female boss this time around? I can only remember 3-4 Asari, some krogans and... 2 male humans...
P.P.S. If you don't have anything more constructive to say then 'get laid' maybe you should follow your own advice and let us have our smart disscusion about the game we like, mkai?

I always find it amusing that games can have as much violence in them as the developers want to put in, as long as the games are rated accordingly, but put in some nudity and watch everything go to hell.
Some see it as a corrupting influence, but in my opinion anyone old enough to be 'legally' playing this game, doesn't need any instruction on that aspect.
In my view games are still viewed as something for kids, which anyone with a modium of intelligence knows is completely wrong, though i'm sure Fox News would disagree on this one.
It's not that i'm after nudity in games, rather I'm against not putting it in just because some people get uptight about it.

It's kinda funny that this topic keeps coming up over and over again. People who claim to be old enough and mature enough to handle sex and nudity in a game seem to believe that any lack of sex and nudity in the game is a sign of self-censorship. They generally don't believe that a game can be called "mature" without explicit sex and/or nudity.
Let me tell you, folks, that as a developer full of mature individuals, we are also free to not have explicit sex and/or nudity in our games, no matter what you, Fox News, the government, or Bunky the Wonder Clown has to say about it. We have never considered it a "problem," it is simply a choice we have made and we have every right to make that choice.
And do you know how many really believe that company line? Face it, Fox news pwned you, and Bioware rolled over like a puppy.

When you try to make a game that looks like realistic, you need to put nudity in it. It's like having sex with a girl who doesn't undress herself annd when you do sex, there is no penetration. It will gives the game more realism but some people might not agree. This will be a next step in the future.
That's the problem here.
You can go and destroy a facility, kill or allow to die, dozens of innocent people, but when it comes to a bit of R&R with a very close friend, the {CENSORED} aspect comes into play.
In a way it reminds of Watchmen, and the problem of Doctor Manhattan's manhood, leave it in and some people complain, but leave it out and EVERYONE would notice.
