I really dunno what problem people have with sex and Nudity in a game. Neither the ones who want it so bad, nor those who don't. It is only a game and if you want porn of whatever kind there is plenty in the internet. So whether or not, or how much there is in a game shouldn't really bother anyone. I personally prefer no actual sex scenes though. But romance to the point where the lights go out belongs to a good story as much as the fighting and talking.

I don't understand though why Bioware, if they do romances, they don't open all romance options up for all sexes and races. It is not like you 'have to' pursue them if you don't wanna. And there would be no need for 1000 threads around the topic. Maybe only 100 ...

Only way we will ever get a decent sex scene is if they release a toolset for Mass Effect 3 like they did with Dragon Age Origins. And I really do hope they do release a toolset not for the pron but for the user created content.

The fact that one would "create" a sex scene for a game that didn't already include one is freaking hilarious and scary at the same time...I feel bad for you.

You know, you felt offended about one sentence that wasn't even meant to offend anyone, especially not you since I did not read one post of the whole thread. I didn't read because what I said here is all I have to say about sex and nudity. I would neither be offended by it nor would I bother to protest about the lack of it, for what ever reason. If you read my post again maybe you notice that all I am saying is that I am the Swiss, I am neutral. Anyway, I don't like people who call me stupid just because I don't share their opinion or enthusiasm for something. So ... chill.

I thought the scenes where better done in ME2; in the first it was the same scene with differemt people, in the second they where all unique and each had alot more depth than the scene from the first. I'm guess they are just angry because they think the only reason there isn't any "sideboob" is because bioware was afraid of a repeat  of the Fox News thing.

I think the romance sceens were perfect. I dont need to see the boobs, vagina...ect. The only skin I think was missing to complete my LI sceen was Tali's face. I know my shep got to see it and I think we should have seen it to. But then again maybe she is cross-eyed + buck-toothed and he only went all the way because she was there LOL

I dont' think many people in this thread are looking for boobs vagina and dick.. but at least the same as before - bare but tasteful nudity.

What gets me is why those who don't want the see nudity complain here? They have the choice in the game keeping there relationship professional. So why are you complaining?



We're just wanting bioware to keep the romance scene interesting and exciting. If a nipple or two is shown fine.. Its a choice.. You guys don't need to worry about it.

As a female Shepherd, there are only 3 male "hook-up" possibilities in ME2. One human and two alien (spoiler if I name the guys!). So, I think BioWare did a good job, not sure a more detailed vid with aliens is such a good idea, should one choose to explore that option. I didn't buy (or play) this great game for the sex anyway!!

you people who need to see your video game characters ****ing are weird. i like the relationship but why do you need to see their nipples? it's like a love scene 1950's style. plus.. shepard and tali in an all out sex scene? doesnt seem right.. the make-out thing and cut to black was PERFECT imo. bioware could've had a similar sex scene.. i hate fox news but i cant see them making another fiasco out of nothing. i think bioware simply made the concious decision to make it more tasteful.

I'm more dissappointed in how relationship = sex. I would have no problem being a a romantic relationship with Tali without sex. There is no option to say no to sex, but yes to her. Why? Why does Jack's dialog devolve into f**k me or get out of my face. Why must simply speaking with the opposite sex equate to flirting? Why can't there be platonic dialog after you've made it clear you aren't interested in a romantic relationship?

Although I did find it dissapointing that it was less than the first game for no other reason than it was less. If that had been how it was in ME1 I wouldn't have a complaint, although I don't see the point in building up to nothing. Why do the sex scenes have to be at the end of the game right before the final mass relay? Why can't they carry on a sexual relationship during the mission instead of "I don't want to die a virgin" booty calls at the end? It's not like the sex scenes (or lack thereof) are worthy of a wait.

And the love interest from the first game... I don't know about Ashley/kaidan, but I couldn't even tell that Shepard and Liara were a couple. It's been 2 years, but it felt like they were over and done with. That kiss was more like a very friendly greeting to an old f**k buddy. I had planned to stay faithful, but after meeting her on Illium I didn't see the point. Why couldn't there be a more intimate moment on Illium with Liara after you helped her out (which goes back to the point of not waiting til the end for intimate scenes)? Why do they speak to each other in such a neutral fashion? Why no communications between her and him while he was off saving the galaxy. Tali, even before the romance parts, seemed to have been closer to Shepard than Liara.

Are you serious? The story DID suffer. Partially because of some of the romance scenes, but as a whole.

I mean I know I posted earlier but that was largely because the post mentioned Bunky The Wonder Clown or whatever it was and also it did make a valid point but SERIOUSLY if it really means that much to you to be able see your characters getting their junk out and getting down to it then you need help, no question.
Just because a game, book, film is an 18 or R or whatever does not immediately mean that it's gotta have T & A in it, sure within the context of the game world it does provide a certain extra layer of characterisation but that's it all it should ever be and there is no need to go any further than it actually does.
Use your imagination if you are that bothered.

I really like the way the paramour scenes were done this time around. I know what a naked man or woman looks like. I don't need to see every little bit of flesh to get the emotional engagement the devs are trying to put across. The Miranda love scene in particular was very well done - leaving anything explicit up to me to imagine if I so chose. Besides, I'm not Shepard, I'm more like Shepard's conscience. To want/demand full nudity feels somewhat perverse to me, as I'm really just a fly-on-the-wall in this narrative. Having said all this, I'd still like to see a little blood in the game. It looks a bit weird to me to see bodies magically disappear. It seems like death is treated as more of a taboo in this game. But meh.

There's a ****load of blood in DAO which is a good thing - not just because - but because the game demands it. If you hit someone with a sword you expect there to be splatter, which is what you get. And fair play, it does make it seem less artificial, which helps you get into the action more - (I stand by my previous comments, as that's not the same thing - in case anyone accuses me of double standards) - I think the level of violence at least is entirely justified within the game world the characters inhabit and by the tools of the trade that they employ.
I also like the way the corpses decay into skeletons, which persist.

Anyway, I don't know why I'm here tbh, I don't even own ME... Oh well back to Mr Wizard.

Semantics....they wanted more skin.  Why?  That's the question.

If the story was advanced with what was there already, then it isn't necessary.  It's all artistic license of the developer anyway and shouldn't even have garnered this much discussion anyway.

Look, I dunno if it's been said before, but anyone remember Fahrenheit? Also known as Indigo Prophecy? It had 2 explicit and controllable sex scenes, and barely raised an eyebrow. I think in America it was cut, but later when a special edition or something was released it was uncut. No problem anyway else in the world, or America it seems.



I don't care if it's immature, and simply watching porn is not the answer, I've been tempted by Miranda Lawson in her tight outfits and seedy camera angles for so long I deserve a payoff. Porn is not Miranda Lawson or Commander Shepard. It's the climax (no pun intended) of a long winded story arc that took considerable time in the game. Imagine if the final level cinematic went for 2 minutes, fade to black, all that happens if Shepard talks to illusive man about defeating the collectors, "well done, you've helped us greatly, we will be prepared for their final attack" credits. No finally shown for Shepard or his team, not rousing theme music, just Shepard saying goodbye and the hologram switching.



I wanna see a big action cinematic and an appropriate finally for me and my characters after a boss battle, and I wanna see a little sex after working on a romance plot.

I think a lot of people are sort of missing the point the OP was trying to make (as I see it). The problem is not the lack of nudity or sex, but rather the fact that Bioware toned down the romance scenes in Mass Effect 2. The way I see it what Bioware does and what an RPG should do is tell a life story, that of your character. And life usually includes romance, and while yes romance can certainly exist without sex, when it goes on long enough it often leads to it. And while the whole beginning of the romance is perfect and well-written (for my choice at least) after you've spent so much time working on it, it just sort of reaches a sudden stop, like Edgie said. I'm not asking for a graphic sex scene at all, if anything that might be a little awkward, but at least something that suggests that the romance reached that sort of intimate level, even just through dialog. After the romance scene my object of affection just went back to treating me the same as before. I hope this changes in Mass Effect 3, but I was a little let down and felt like Bioware let the press get to them which stopped them from following the romance to a more satisfying conclusion. Does it impact the main story as a whole? Of course not. Does it completely ruin the romance? No. But is it a good thing that Bioware would go backwards when it comes to getting people to accept that in an adult game the option to have a sexual encounter isn't that bad? Personally, I don't think so.
