I wonder if we can get Stan Woo to come back here and b*tch at us again. I noticed he came back about seven days ago, but I missed it. Dang. Looks like he got sad that the people he insulted, insulted him back! D'awwww!

I will remind you that there is a school of thought that said this game was ready to go in time for Christmas and they pushed it back so as not to compete with Dragon Age. So I am less believing it was a time issue.Kid_SixXx wrote...

Ok, having not read all the 38 pages... I'm sure this was done so they did not have to make a nude model for all the LI... After all, in ME1, they made a nude model for male and female, and that was that, recolor it when you get Liara. So 2 models, and they are used no matter who you had as a LI.
The thought had occurred to me about the omission of nudity due to the time investment for creating animations and cutscenes with characters of such varying body types.
There probably would've been tire fires set in major cities around the world if there had been a delay in the release schedule of the final game possibly without regard to the notion that it might have been for the inclusion of more boobies....
.... even though that might add to the replay value for some of our esteemed colleagues...
Game development 101:
Game models are locked down waaaaay before release, often as far as half a year if not more. And they take a long time to get approved. First concept art, then 3D artist needs to make a prototype, then they do a ton of passes, lots of meetings making sure that all the diffrent parts of the team don't have a problem with the model, then it gets approved, they implement it in the game, them mo-cap the lovescene, in such a way that no nippes or dirty bits are showing (can't have it label AO youknow) Then QA needs to check it, and then we have the problems with localization, maybe some contries (I'm looking at you Germany and Australia) may not be onboard with the new high res nudeness, and they need a diffrent model, so go back to start and do everything I just talk about again...
And that's just one model.
BioWare is a big company, adding a nude model for each character is a HUGE time/cost investment (unlike a small company where this cost would be a lot less). It's not something you just do because you have a few exstra weeks of time. If you have a few exstra weeks of time you tweak areas so they load better, make sure that there is no screen tearing, do a exstra pass on the camera, make sure the small things work.

And you have given the most compelling argument for why they were not really included. All this being conjecture by fans, probably, does not even come close to the nature in which this as a story decision was made. Considering that when they did this it was considerably early in the process and did not think it would be a problem for fans of the series, I understand the decision. Still do not like it and do not want them to make the same decision for ME3. I would prefer to wait 6 months for them to fully flesh out the romance and non-romance team interactions.Matshelge wrote...

A great post by Matshelge, thank you. And that's as good a place as any to shut down this version of the thread and start a new one. If you wish to continue the discussion, that is. Which I'm totally okay with. honest!
End of line.
End of line.
