Hearing the Rachni moans on Earth's moon was unsettling.

I got an error message on Windows 7.
Scariest moment of my life. Fortunately it was easily fixed.
Needed a new pair of shorts right there and then.

A general protection fault that left my Windows in 640 x 480 and 4-bit colour. Thought I needed a new graphics card right there. Fortunately it rebooted fine. I swear, there's nothing that cures a bout of constipation like something untoward happening with my PC.
In the actual game, though, I'd agree with the OP. Much as I know that ship is full of husks, they startle me every time.

The Nvidia drivers that cause TDR problems on my Win7 everytime I play ME1. I'm playing through Eden Prime then suddenly the screen turns black and comes back to normal after a couple seconds, and it keeps repeting. Damn you, Microsoft.

My scariest moment would be in UNC: Derelict Freighter assignment
Without reading the walkthrough, I wasn't expect those husks would ambush right next to me. My team was easily overwhelmed by them at first time, wish I have my Cain with me at this particular mission. lol

Waiting for the game to inevitably crash, despite the fact that I'm well over the system requirements and have the latest driver installed.

That thresher maw man... just... ugh...
It's always tricky the first time.

This very much so lol. Made me jump the first time and the subsequent times when I wasn't expecting it on other planets. Oh and when the Rachni jump out of their holes in that mission with the Brood Rachni also gotta jump from me. Not exactly scary moments but holy expletive moments

Well, as of last night: Thorian Creepers.
["Die!" *BLAM* "Die!" *BLAM* "DIEEEEEEE!!!" *BLAM*BLAM*BLAM*BLAM*BLAM*]

Threshers. Every time. Especially if you weren't expecting to find one. Just driving along and uh-oh...worm food. Reminds me of the film Tremors, rather than Dune's sandworms. More's the pity in ME2 the fear has gone from the mighty worm monsters.

They were scary the first time. Managed to take one down without taking too much damage to the Mako the second time. Still fire like mad and accept the exp reduction for Mako kills, though.

That abandoned ship, well it's not scary but there's just something creepy about abandoned ships in space... But when I found out what happened I was "Meh"

Yeah, the thresher maws tended to get to me, too. The thorian bothered me a bit, as well. I wouldn't say scary was a big factor in ME1, though. If you want a scary hybrid shooter/RPG, try System Shock 2.

People impaled on Dragons Teeth.
No thanks, I'll fight to the death or save the last shot for myself.

The rachni in general scare the crap out of me. I shudder whenever they come on screen. Especially when when they pop up in a hallway when I'm not expecting it. I always loathe going to Noveria for that reason. I think I just have this thing with insects in general I don't like. So glad I didn't have to deal with those buggers in ME2.

Can't see much difference between the Rachni in ME and the Klixen in ME2. Except the Klixen are unlikely to much use as potential allies.Fidget6 wrote...

Any delerict ships found in the game. They're..."uncomfortable" by default, and the fact you face the unknown (at least the first time you played ME), and the ambient music completes the creepiness ambient.

The klixen actually use the same skeleton model as the rachni, only with different textures.

Okay, so I KNEW Saren wasn't "dead" when he shot himself, and I knew a boss fight was coming whether I liked it or not, but watching his robot skeleton burn through his flesh? Not pretty at 5AM, let me tell you. Gave me the willies.
That and I jumped a bit every time a husk/creeper screamed offscreen. I hate being zombie rushed.

It looks like a quick death though. It could be worse, like getting caught by slavers. *shivers*

ME1 - The scariest moment, well, the biggest fright for me was definetly when I was walking through a dark cargo hold on some ship, and all of a sudden, BOOM! AN EXPLOSIVE BARREL GOES OFF IN MY FACE! Turns out it was a trap by some crazy biotic woman.
ME2-****ing project Overlord, every 30 seconds some super ****ing scary face pops out on a screen, with a massive scream. First time I had my speakers on very loud, almost pissed myself, everyone in the house heard, and I spilled my drink... oh the embarassment.

yes project Overlord was the most intense part of the whole ME2 ...the VI sreams on the monitors ..the part with crashed geth ship ..and the end with (who played knows) ...seamed more extreme than the rest of ME2

in ME1 i'll add next to first enconters of Maws and rachni on noveria..the charging Krogans ..in ME1 the Krogans were very hard to kill and they usualy kill you in 1 sec if they charge get close to you...Me2 krogans are fare less dangerous than ME1 ones ...1 example of that is the 3 Krogans that guard the geth beacon on Feros they all charge at once and usualy they kill my squad and 2 sec.
