Yes. She thought Shepard was just being a bully when he dipped her hood in an ink well during class, but he was really just afraid to tell her his feelings.

Nah. She's had two years to get over Shepard if it was just a crush and quite clearly hasn't done so. The events of ME2 just further cement the bond between them.

No, I find her character's infatuation to be more like Petyr Baelish's infatuation with Lady Stark (I'm hoping if I keep dropping A Song of Ice and Fire references in my post Bioware will give us a Sci-Fi or Fantasy political drama). If Shepard pursues another LI she will probably stay as a member of the crew of the Normandy (baring death) and watch Shepard from afar for the rest of either of their lives.

If it were just a crush, she wouldn't have held onto those for the two years you were gone. She wouldn't have wrote about missing you in her logs, etc, etc.
Even Kaidan/Ash moved on after just a year.

I think Tali defintely has a crush on Shepard. Big time. There is some real love there as well, but he's kind of her hero as well as the galaxy's hero. And she's not really someone who has had a whole lot of adult relationships (if any). I think a lot of it is girlish infatuation, which is one of the reasons my Shepard would have had a hard time going for her even if he wasn't with Ash. He kind of sees her more like a girl and less of a grown woman.

Definitely not. As InvaderErl said, she had plenty of time to get over you, she didn't. And talking to her when she first slips up about it is a big give away...you're the only person she's ever really, truly trusted.

I have a friend who keeps asking me to read that series. I want to, but I don't really like fantasy -- the main reason I don't currently own DA:O, nor have I ever played it.

Great books, but I wouldn't bother reading them til he gets around to actually finishing it. (Maybe in another decade or so.)

I would have agreed with you if this were the first instance that they had met. Remember that they had a history, albeit with her as a young adult. It likely was just a crush then.
But seriously, for two years they've been separated, and she actually reminisces (sp) about him out of the blue (logs on her recruitement planet)? There is no crush that lasts 2 years, with the other person completely out of your life.

This made me lol. I know what you mean. Bioware is laughing at us.
We better get to actually SEE Tali in ME3. Also, here hoping that helping both Tali and Legion (and keeping both of thier loyalties due to Charm persuasion), and assimilating the heretic geth, will help the quarians get their home planet back. (Note: Helping the Quarians get theirh home planet back BETTER be a part of ME3, its been mentioned too many times for it to be anything less)
