I would say geth shield boost because you are able to upgrade it through research. I believe there is 2 of them that raises shield strength 25%

Technically this applies to all bonus powers though :) I mean all the weapon damage % upgrades mean the ammo scales, all the biotic % upgrades will increase bonus biotics, etc.

Well it depends on what you're playing.

Considering many powers don't work if the enemy is shielded and/or has armour, I think Reave is possibly one of the best. Slam is another to consider, I think the stun is 6 seconds once it's maxed out.

Overall: The best loyalty power is the one that plays best along with your playstyle and other powers.

So stealing a bunch of biotic powers for my biotic less solider wouldn't be effective?

Not sure. I didn't find any of the biotic powers to really help my soldier much. GSB/AP Ammo were far more helpful really.

Only trade off I see re: Inferno vs AP is that Inferno can interrupt enemy actions when it lights them on fire.

My build atm on Hardcore [been testing various ones]:
Heightened Adrenaline Rush [4]
Concussive Shot [2]
Disruptor Ammo [2]
Inferno Ammo [4]
Cryo Ammo [1]
Commando [4]
Improved Geth Shield Boost [4]

I really like the posted one earlier by Kaorunandrak - only particular concern is fragility if you get caught in the open on insanity [Horizon fight can be a bastard with the multi angle fight] w/o an oh crap button like GSB. Inferno's major perk is the ability to stagger enemies when they are in health and the chance for AOE damage, but AP ammo just wrecks so hard and I need to get better at using Adrenaline Rush anyway.

The high disrupter ammo is just friggen awesome sauce mechs and shields drop like nothing and make me smile. As far as not haveing a shield boost like I said I tend to really make use of my cover options more so then anything and if im caught out in the open I fire HAR and while every one is frozen I Storm to the nearest possible cover while unloading my rev into the face of who ever is getting the most shots on me.

My team make up also helps alot I think in my ability to survive I usually have Miranda witha maxed Slam or Jack with a Maxed Shockwave or Samara on the team with a secondary tank Garrus/Legion(sniper rifles) or Mordin for crowd control.

The defensive abilities like Fortification/Barrier/Geth Shield, Reave, Energy Drain, and Warp Ammo are my favorites.

I have nothing against the geth shield i used it my first two play throughs just wasnt feeling it do to how I play and the down time of my other powers after popping it.

I also feel I have a good armor load out that helps me alot as well. Recon Hood, Shield harness, Stabalizer Gauntlets, Health legs, and Strength pads for shoulders. gives me extra meat to take hits gives me extra oomph on my weapon damage and also lets me straight up pimp hand the husk swarms if they manage to get two close. and ofcourse I upgrade every chance I get so I stay on top of shepards bonuses.

oh yeah and also if things get too hairy HAR + M90 cain= BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Image IPB

For an offensive Adept, squad warp ammo (Jack's) kicks butt. Pop a wide singularity in between a bunch of enemies and let your squad take them out by triggering the biotic effect. The ones with barriers will remain standing, but are easily dealt with due to warp ammo as well.

Reason for Warp Ammo over warp itself would be power cooldown. Using warp ammo is quicker to take enemies out than waiting for your powers to reload, plus if you specced in wide throw, should any of the enemies have survived the barrage of warp ammo, you can scatter the clotted bunch with a hard throw (shockwave works well for this too, but needs more skillpoint investment.)

Anyway... I say (squad) warp ammo for Adepts.

oh yeah and dirupter ammo also overheats enemy weapons so i put it on my sniper rifle and tag well entrenched enemies before LMGing them all back to the stone age relativly free from any type of counter attack until they figure oh crap eject the heat sink!!!
