I'm not sure if I've messed something up and will have to start from an earlier save or not so help me out. . .

Finished the dig site and benezia.  After each one Ashley and I talked about her family, then her father and the surrendering.  After I finished Feros and Zhu's hope no conversation.  In fact she says she has to fix or gun or something but no 'I still want to talk to you later though'.  Have I screwed something up or should I just move on to Virimire?

if you haven't been talking to Liara you should be okay. I usually talk to both and then make a choice when they force me too.

I'm nervous that I don't hear her say 'but I wouldn't mind talking again later though' at the end of her 1 on 1 conversation =(

and I have been talking to Liara but didn't pay attention to what I was saying =(

Start a convo and then just select Goodbye if she says, "looking forward to it skipper," you're good. If not something has gone wrong but I can't imagine what.

i can't get her to say anything but 'sir' when i hit goodbye, even in saves before she talks to me about her father surrendering

well in that case it seems like ur not in a romance...why?



In the first convo (about aliens) you didn't happen to hit the option on the middle left did you? That kills the romance off I'm pretty sure. If memory serves the line reads something like, "You're out of line".



I'm trying to think of other ways you could have killed it but aside from accidentally romancing Liara (did it once myself) I can't think what.

On my first play through I messed up and got Liara as a romance instead of Ashley. Second time through when talking to Liara I told her I just wanted to be friends and then I got my romance with Ash going. Sure their are other factors I overlooked and got lucky on but that was the noticeable one for me.

I'm trying NOT to romance her, or Liara either for that matter. It seems hard. I told Liara that I just wanted to be friends, and when I walked in on Ash and her sister I told her that we were getting along too well since I was her commanding officer. The conversation ended there, so I thought I was done.



Now I just finished Feros and I went to talk to Ash again. She asked me to share a drink, but the line was a little different than when the romance was on, and there seemed to be some missing dialogue options, so I figured I was still in the clear. Then, before I know it, at the end of the conversation she is asking "So, are you still interested in me?"

Grrr...

I thought I already said no! X-(



How do I keep her from picking up the romance again? I don't actually have to be a huge a*shole and insult her poor grandpa and ****** her off, do I?

You could try just not talking to either of them?

I did that, actually.

I told Liara I wasn't interested, and that me and Ash were friends. Then I abstained from talking to Ashley. Next thing I know, after I blew up Kaiden on Virmire, I get the ole' I would never leave you to die dialogue option. So I just told her it was my call, and go down to engineering to see what she has to say. Sure enough, she is on that romance dialogue about her Grandpa despite the fact that I never even had any of the other conversations. Whats going on here?



I already reloaded to back before Feros so I could walk in on her sister's vidmail and tell her (politely) that our relationship was inappropriate. She seemed to get the hint, but now she is back at it. WTF.

Well, you could do one of several things. You could just go ahead and blow her up on Virmire (Nothing says ‘I'm not interested’ like being left behind with a nuke), you could brush her off after the final talk with the council (right before Illos), or you could just not talk to any of them at all (The best way to stop a romance from blooming is not communicating)... just some ideas off the top of my head.
