I'm starting this thread so that we can list these ambiguous dialogue options, either to help other players or perhaps in the event a future patch could address some of them through text changes. I'll add to the list if I spot more cases, and please feel free to add your own. Please do not waste replies either 1) disparaging the conversation wheel system overall or 2) insulting people for not understanding the wheel choices listed here. All I'm asserting here is that a reasonable person could be confused by some of these wordings, and that such immersion-breaking confusion is better avoided.
SPECIFIC CASES:
- After recruiting Jack, if you talk to Kelly she warns you that if Jack propositions Shep for sex, it would be wise to turn Jack down. You have two choices, one is something like "I'll be careful" and the other something like "Don't worry about it." I picked the latter, thinking it meant "Don't worry about it, because I have no interest in Jack"; what Shepard actually says is something like "Jack is a member of the team and she'll be okay." The text might thus work better if it read something like "She's just a little angry" or simply "Don't worry about Jack" -- something that makes more clear that Shep is minimizing Kelly's concerns.
- At the end of Garrus's loyalty mission, if you keep Sidonis talking, you're presented with three choices: letting Garrus take the shot, saying "Don't do it, Garrus," or saying "I can't help you." What's ambiguous is who the "you" in the last option is. I thought it might mean "Garrus, I refuse to help you execute this poor wretch in cold blood in the middle of the Citadel." It actually means "I can't help you, Sidonis." This would be easily fixed by changing the wording to (wait for it) "I can't help you, Sidonis."
