Happened to me too, just like described in the OP. System suddenly lost power right after the collector ship mission. I left the comm room and went to take the liftt, my pc crashed just when I clicked the floor I wanted to go to. I restarted, had no option to resume but savegames were ok, and I needed to log in again but no previous achievements were registered.

I wouldn't be bothered so much except it happened during a second playthrough, and now I'm not getting the XP bonus from the long service medal. I can't find the option to restore any previous versions either.

My game crashed right AFTER I exited out of the credits. The screen went blank and the video card fan revved up to 100%, had to reboot. Lost all achievements (corrupted profile I presume, like everyone else) and the ability for New Game+. Bleughh!! This, along with all the "stuck in a wall" bugs I've experienced has really reduced my enjoyment of this game. Is it so hard to back up the profile during game startup?

i just reinstalled the game, lost all archivements and i even had the insanity one... totally pissed off on this...

edit: i wonder why no bioware reply on this one... and how am i gonna get the "level 30" archivement again as i AM level 30 getting insanity will be pain too but...

gotta say my will to play quite much dropped to 0 in instant

Hi, got the same prblem here.

I played ME2 3-4 times in a row to get all achievemts and bonuses.

Char is at lvl 30 (insanity) plus i had all achievements for the addons.

Kasumi, Overlord + Datapackages.



Is anyone here with such a profile????

I crashed when I tried to tune up ME2 video settings. Not a mission, or particular thing in-game. Perhaps I tried to "push" the video settings beyond my PC's possibilities and it didn't work, the PC crashed. After I reconfigured the video settings back to working conditions my achievements... gone with the wind...
or rather, gone with the crash...

I died at the fight with the collectors in the Human-Reaper room. The I push the Continue button, Loading screen goes on, it starts to slow down, slow down, slow down... it freezes.
The PC its actually frozen and it doesn't respond so I push the Reset button and when I run the game again the profile is corrupted (ask my EA account, there's no continue button at the main menu, the name of the career that I was playing appears like "Shepard" and the autosave is corrupted but I can load any other save)

Digging up an old thread. Computer died on my way to Okeer, all achievements lost. No previous version available. Sucks.

Mine happened after my PC lost power (which is something it keeps doing on the first playthrough of a game, but I don't think it's connected to ME because it happens with another game) after loading ME2 and I rebooted. I was surprised to see that, yes, the "Resume Game" option was gone. Loaded the most recent save and, like everyone else in this thread, the achievements were gone.

Already tried the "restore a previous" version for the Player1 prf and they're still gone. Checking the link skan5 provided for more details.

This thread has been ignored for one year because there's no solution, I think. There's only a workaround. When ME2 crashes, the file YourDocuments\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2\\BIOGame\\Profile\\Player1.prf, which contains all the achievements, gets lost. If you don't want to lose all your progress, make a backup of this file. If you didn't make any backups and don't want to replay many times to win back all medals, well, you may borrow some friend's Player1.prf.

There is also a keybind you can create in the coalesced.ini to grant you all the achievements again. Consult the ME wiki for the exact bind string.
