Ok. I'm a little slow. I JUST beat Mass Effect 1.

Good game. Decentish.

I watched the whole credits, etc, all the way to the end. When it looped back around to the main menu, I was a bit confused. I checked my saved games, and the absolute most recent game saved is the auto-save that occurs at the very last possible moment to save in the entire game. Just before a big climactic battle, etc. And there's at least one plot/decision point after this fight, during which you can't save.

So I have to ask: How is the transfer from 1 to 2 achieved? Was there some sort of save thing that I missed? Will I be able to transfer this character to Mass Effect 2 with even my most final decision of all included?

Check your saved game directory - it should be in your documents/bioware/masseffect/save

There should be a save that starts Char_01 with a bunch of numbers (the first one is the level you are at when you beat it) after it that is automatically saved after you beat the game, that is the save that is imported.

open up the ME2 config application, go to save games, then you can navigate to the ME1 saves directory and click "import saves" or some such. that should do it.

Yeaup, it's there! Good to know, thanks. Any idea what the other numbers mean? The pivotal choices you made or something?

get it :P it's a good game. anyway, the only decision that isn't saved is who goes to lead the council, and miranda asks you who you chose, anderson or udina.
