Yeah. I got the piece of dialogue with my femshep where she mentioned linking suits and got to say that I felt the same way, but there was never any way to progress it beyond that.
It's funny how some here think that "linking our suits" has something to do with having sex. Tali speaks about the trust she has in Shepard.
Yeah, in one of Tali's quests I believe she mentions a relative linking suits with a friend. It had nothing to do with becoming sexual with that person. Please everyone, no specifics. This is a non-spoiler forum. I'm not saying the original intention of ths scene was meant to be friendship-only, I'm just saying linking suits doesn't always mean that.

no wonder they won't talk about gay romances, they went to the point of recording voices, but probably were censored by EA

I dunno... why would EA let a game release with full on gay and lesbian romances one month, a game with sex/nudity DLC the next and then suddenly go all prudish in the third with ME2?

You can have a romance with Tali in the game still
I don't see why no-one has realized that yet
Im on 360, but I chose not to go with her, but she gave the options
Male Shepard can.
Its the lesbians and gay guys who play female Shepard who are complaining.
Tali is the cute girly girl. It makes sense she is straight. Although really I don't think she should be a romance option full stop.
Alice is a cute girly girl too. Oh wait... you are obviously too closed-minded to know who that is.

actually i don't think it's much proof, the thane relationship also has the male shep saying exactly what the female said. just slowly working my way through the relationship files now to see what the others hold
How can you open them ?

I would support the inclusion of the FemShep romance as DLC - I see no reason why Tali wouldn't fall for her female hero in the same way as she does for her male!

It seems strange that Bioware would pay both of their Shepard actors to record dialogue they never intended to use in the game, but I suppose they will have their reasons.
There's always plenty of dialogue recorded in games and animations that never sees the light of day because of script changes and time constraints. What I find odd is why unused dialogue is left on the disk, instead of just cutting it out completely.
Even, tho i played the male first, i enjoyed the female voice acting much more.
This is exactly why I would be happy to see this option. I just can't take the romance subplots seriously with the male character - Mark Meer is perfectly OK when he just needs to sound like badass, but getting actual emotion in his voice just seems too much for him.

Yes, I understand that, but some people in this thread are implying that the dialogue was recorded when Bioware never had any intention of using it in the first place, which is what I find strange. (Unless I'm completely misunderstanding what they are saying, in which case I apologise!)

the afc is a container, you need an extractor ( i found one from google ). the files it extracts is wav ( riff files ) iirc and you need to convert that to something, i found a wav to ogg converter for that
overall the process is annoying and requires writing batch files to automate tasks but it was an interesting learning experience . the out come off course is a good look at how bioware creates games ( did you know the scene where you first met Tali @ Freedom's Progress contains 83 audio files, some of which I don't think is even in the game )
edit: it's not odd that Bioware left it, each afc is no more then a few kilobytes the largest hasn't gone past 30 meg, and in each of them could contain anywhere between 10 to 200+ audio files. a VA only has to walk into a studio do 5hrs of recording and that's it. what Bioware does with the lines after it's recorded is entirely up to them

Time constraints? A marketing decision? Unfortunately the chances of getting an official answer are pretty much nil.EA presents, the Tali/Femshep romance pack! only £4.99 coming soon to the Cerberus Network!
The sad thing is that thousands would probably buy it without a word of complaint.
Yes.
I would.

It's funny how some here think that "linking our suits" has something to do with having sex. Tali speaks about the trust she has in Shepard.
She also brings up intimacy and that suit-syncing is the most intimate thing Quarians can do. No, it certainly doesn't explicitly mean romantic interest.
But, going from suit-syncing to romantic interest makes more sense to me than going from suit-syncing to absolutely nothing.
My ideal scenario would be more (read: a lot more) non-romantic dialog for possible romantic interests, but since that's not happening, BioWare already messed up the lore for fanservice, and the fanservice is actually hurting a certain type of character (all Femsheps interested in Tali, even for non-romantic reasons as she ends up with less dialog than normal), and the romantic relationship between Femshep and Tali is not ruled out given what we know of her, it would be a lesser-evil to just tag the romance for either gender.

Logistics primarily. Lets say you're throwing around the FemShep/Tali idea. You've written it, talked about it, but don't know if it's going into the final build.
Voiceover time comes.
If you later decide to go that route but they haven't recorded it you may be totally screwed because one or more of the voice actors may be unavailiable.
