Considering in the first game we got Morrgian which was like a gothic chick badass who kicked ass, took names and had a unseen plan. And Leliana the cute almost school girl like good girl, I'm wondering what awaits us for new romances in the expansion

With luck there'll be the option of staying loyal to your DAO romances... that they'll be there, just not as party members. Beyond that though, I suspect we'll see male mage and a female elf added to the romance mix.

Seems likely that Anders would be a romance interest for female PC, as he seems to be an "evil" type, while Zev was much more "neutral". With that said, it's likely there would be "neutral" female option for men - and I agree a female elf would make sense.

Considering that the xpac will be shorter than a full game, and in NWN2: Mask of the Betrayer (as the most recent Bioware xpac I can think of) they only added one romance per gender, I think two would be the most we'd get.

There was a female elf romance in the Human Noble origin (Iona).

huh.. we must be playing a different game... even not "hardened" Leliana is not a "good girl" by any stretch.. and depending on how you look at it, she can be a bit creepy

That's not a romance, more like a booty call or one night stand.  Hell it didn't even last the night because of her dying on your human noble.  Not very nice of her if you ask me.

I wonder how are they gonna implement the romance in awakening if you ended DAO with Alistair/Zevran/Leliana as your romance.

I'm guessing we will see cameos of them at some point. Maybe we'll get one of those "jealous" speeches that force you to choose.

What would Alistair say to his female HN queen if he catches her cheating on him with Anders? :devil:

There's something special about romances in BioWare games. They are more complicated and well-thought, more... realistic I'd say.



I also say Anders is most likely to be a LI. I doubt he'll be evil though. Sarcastic? Yes. OH, YES.

Well, after seeing how ME2 dealt with romances, it's likely that the female option will be romanceable by both genders and the male will only be romanceable by females.  Bioware may have added a bi male to DA:O, but I have a feeling they'll feel that's "enough" to appease the fans who want gay romance and allow them to continue to focus on providing multiple girl on girl options for their straight teenage male players.

Romance is romance regardless of gender, after all you fall in love with the person and not the body, wouldn't you agree?



I say that, yet I find indulging in romance with a alien resembling either a cockroach or a lizard to be a little gross.

That wasn't make by BioWare, nor was Neverwinter Nights 2.

They're two different development teams. The ME crew doesn't even have female writers.
