I pretty much assumed from the first moment I encountered Harbinger that he was a Reaper. Just a combination of the voice and the name.

But I've seen a few posts that cite Harbinger being "revealed" as a Reaper at the end, instead of the Collector General, as a big surprise.

What's the general consensus?

But I thought that was the voice of the Collector Leader... never thought that was the voice of a Reaper.

I was pretty sure it was a Reaper from the off, the voice sounded Reaper-like, the quotes it produced were and so on, but, in the ME universe nothing is set in stone, until the cutscene at the end which sort of confirmed it was a Repaer

Same here. I can't understand why people couldn't see that the big omnious voice damning organic life forms was in fact a Reaper.

You're not given the name, at least in the game, until the end, as far as I know.

well its not like you ever learn much about him. with the ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL thing, the name, and the guess that the reapers are involved somehow with the collectors it is hinted at, but nobody has any actual evidence until, you know, the end.

Harbinger IS a Reaper. He's simply controlling the Collector General.

Except on the combat targetting. Which you're right is not strictly "in character knowledge" for Shep, but a bit difficult to ignore given how often he pops up.

Really it was the voice that did it though, so similar in style to Sovereign's.

I was surprised, although the name should have tipped me off.

I'm more interested if he/it wanted to kill Shep or "collect" him. That's the only thing I was ever confused on.

Going to have to throw my hat in the "Surprised" pile. But then again, I was too busy taking down collectors to notice the similarities in the tone of voice like the people who made the connection from the beginning. Good Ears to those that did catch that though ^,^

I figured he was a Reaper, but I thought the whole Collector ship was Harbinger, and he was just working with the Collector General instead of controlling him. Boy was I wrong.

I assumed from the voice and the thought that the Collectors must be controlled by a Reaper so why not (and at the end that was further elaborated)

I didn't realize it, maybe you're just more perceptive than me. From the weay he looked, I thought he may be a/the prothean reaper. Anyone else agree?

During Horizon, I didn't quite get it... It dawned on me as I progressed, though, especially with the whole "Protheans=Collectors" bit.
