But since you started this discussion again, I'm going to take the oportunity to repost something I put up some hours ago to see what those who've shown up in the meantime think, like our fearless leader, Shin.

I know some think the sex scene with Miranda is too physical. After considering why this might be, I think I know the reason. Just stay with me for a bit.

Considering her personal history, I believe that Miranda, even though she is a mature 35 year old woman, has never had a real intimate relationship. Now, I don't mean that she's a virgin or any nonsense of the sort. I mean she has never felt close to anyone.

She spent her youth as a recluse by her fathers choice, so no chance for intimacy there. Then she flees and ends up with Cerberus which, lets face it, is definitely not the place where you would find people you'd want to be close to.

So here you have a woman who for the past 35 years has kept her distance from just about everyone she meets, and by distance, I don't mean just emotional. I also mean physical.

That's why it's such an important moment after her loyalty mission when she touches Shepard's arm. That's also why I think her scene is so physical.

After living a life like that, Miranda must be starved for intimate physical contact (literaly). Intimate physical contact is just as important in a relationship as deep feelings. And she had denied herself both all her life.

After realizing that Shepard really cared for her, she still tried to avoid it, but hey, they might be dead soon. She probably saw it as her last chance to have something she never trully had, and being Miranda, took everything she could, regardless of the rest.

It was for me.

To clear up the confusion - Miranda was defending Cerberus against Jack's allegations that the organization as a whole was behind the experiments.

If you read into Cerberus, however, you'd find that each cell is isolated from one another and the existence of each of them is kept secret to the other cells.

In example;

I would in Cerberus Military Cell Alpha

Miranda works in Cerberus Scientific Cell Lazarus

She would know that a military cell existed, but it's goals, it's staff, and how it functioned would be information should would never know.

During the loyalty mission with Jack - it's painfully obvious THAT specific Cerberus cell had gone rogue and began conducting experiments behind the Illusive Man's back.

Miranda understood this - Jack didn't. So Miranda was trying to make Jack understand that hating the whole organization for a rogue's cell action is illogical.

I actually like her... assets... better in the black. Evertything looks more natural and alluring. In white they seem just a bit "wonky" for some reason.

Well...the follow-up deal they did with the Alliance Ascension project was hardly much better.

funny how the romance scene at the end automatically switches back to the original white outfit. I had the black suit selected for some leather action but apparently the game is scripted to play that scene with white Miri. Ah well...

I think you bring up some interesting points, and I agree. I think that's also why she gets so flustered if you choose the renagade option and kiss her spontaneously. She wasn't expecting it, she's used to being in control and intimate, physical contact of any kind is something she doesn't do often or take very lightly. Like you said, I think it spoke volumes when she reached out to Shepard and touched his arm. It was such a small gesture, but immediately you could tell that it meant a lot more coming from her than it would coming from say, Jack. (No offense to Jack, she's just more casual about that is all I mean.) I think there were a lot of unspoken cues in their relationship, you just have to pay attention.
