Probably. Plus, if I don't stick with Sole Survivor - then my Shepard won't have an as strong of a reason to distrust Cerberus or Miranda at first.

Bah, even as a Sole Survivor - it was hard NOT to trust Miranda.

;)

Really? I'm always deliberately cold and distrustful of her, basically up until her loyalty mission. I also don't do the "body admiring/are you jealous?" until I've completed Ilium. It provides for better evolution of the relationship, and draws it out better.

I've been playing again and had that conversation today. Chose for the first time the jealous line to see the kiss.

It was a great scene and I loved her "stop smiling, dammit". But to be honest, I prefer the admiring her body line, which I had chosen initially. I prefer to throw her the bait (so to speak) and wait for her to bite later on (no pun intended).

I feel that by stealing that kiss from her I'm acting without having any consideration for what she wants (which is bad considering her past), while the admiring her body line and conversation that follows is more like I'm saying "I care for you and want to be with you, but only if you want the same", which I think fits more in the context of her life.

Yeah, this is what I thought. Choosing the jealous line makes it sort of seem like Shepard only sees it as a fling.

I always avoid the "who said anything about love" line, in exchange for the far superior (IMO) "It doesn't matter. What matters is how we feel".

I actually never thought about taking Miranda on Jack's loyalty mission tbh. To me that mission seemed a little more sort of like a private matter, and Shepard didn't say anything to any of the crew.

I don't think Jacob cares to be honest. I'm pretty sure he's basically fully trusted in Shepard, and knows he's doing what is right.

I have yet to make a custom Shepard - I think it's something with "canon", I suppose? The default Shepard is used in all the commercials and whatnot.

I think I need to do a playthrough where I do just that - custom shepard, spacer, war hero.

It will probably screw with your mind. I find it weird to hear my Shepard's voice coming out of someone else's face.

Yes.  I have a hard time creating a new Shep and seeing him as Shepard.  I can do it with the femSheps, but not Chris... he is my Shepard.  I couldn't even watch that Miri/Shep tribute without going "Hey, that's not Shepard... get away from her!"

lol,I feel the same way when creating new Sheps or seeing other Sheps,I just think any other Sheps I create don't handle the torch compare to my main Shep. When seeing other Sheps I have the same response as you;I'm not hating on other Shepards though.

That line about admiring Miranda's body isn't actually as bad as I originally thought. I just tried not to concentrate on Shepard's extremely weird facial expressions and it actually sounds a lot better than I remember.

One of my heardest choices through the romance is deciding whether to make the comment about admiring her body or asking her if she's jealous (which ultimately leads up to the makeout session.)

The first draws out her coy side and is definatly appealing - while the second choice catches her off guard and seeing how she reacts to it is brilliant.

Well-made point.

When I initially did it - I didn't view it that way. She seemed to want it as well, to me. Hell, if you watch it - she comes most of the way for it.

Interesting. I saw that one as just playful banter since it looked to me he was just joking to disarm her a bit. I thought the rest of the conversation confirmed it when she calls him an ass with a smile on her lips and then he gets serious and talks about both of them really caring for each other.

I didn't feel this one had the same problem as the jealous one, but I guess it's pretty subjective.

I don't know. I just feel like I'm insulting her. She's being extremely candid and sincere, and I don't think Shepard should be anything but serious with her.

Have to agree. Takes two to tango and she totally comes after you when the kiss happens. Putting her hands on Shepard and rubbing his neck doesn't tell me she was caught off guard and is unsure of what she wants. I kind of think on that dialogue choice as a reverse admiring body comparison. Instead of Shepard commenting on her body Miranda does it to him with the perfect specimen, damn fine work and all that stuff.

After reading your point Toshi I wish I actually could have gone
for the "It doesn't matter" line. Though I can see that both lines
still have somewhat of the same effect, but you have a very good point
for it.

Well I preffer Miranda over Ashley. The hair was all it took. xD Yeah but still she does have some nice moments and her story is very well but could have been better. Like everything it needs more comical moments (like when hitting on Liara). I want her to be on the third game! I thought I'd hate her and just use her as a romance and get it over with but it changed from a one-night stand to understanding her. She has never been truly free until she joins your squad and understands Cerberus wasn't her savior but another person using her.

Honestly, I saw it as him trying to alleviate the mood - like mentioned, it was serious. He changed the tone a bit and brought a smile to her face before being serious with her about his feelings.

Exactly,Shepard's trying to pull the funnies while she is trying to be serious with him.Posted Image

Yeah, I'm really surprised the "who said anything about love?" line is the 'Paragon' option.

And the "So I can't admire your mind or body?"/"Actually I wouldn't mind if if you'd admire my body a little bit more." exchange floored me the first time. I hadn't realized I had backed into 'romance conversation' territory. It's kind of funny in a way...it's like Miranda was saing to Shep, "You know, I appreciate you helping me with my sister and everything, but in case you haven't noticed yet, I'm also completely hot. These chats of ours don't have to be just chats, you doofus." It's definitely more Renegade/"bad boy" to go straight for the kiss.

(Though everyone's right, that "Stop, smiling, damnit," is pretty endearing.)

"A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we fight!! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth,
I bid you stand, Mirimaniacs"

Haha sorry just in the moment.
