I've been playing again and had that conversation today. Chose for the first time the jealous line to see the kiss.
It was a great scene and I loved her "stop smiling, dammit". But to be honest, I prefer the admiring her body line, which I had chosen initially. I prefer to throw her the bait (so to speak) and wait for her to bite later on (no pun intended).
I feel that by stealing that kiss from her I'm acting without having any consideration for what she wants (which is bad considering her past), while the admiring her body line and conversation that follows is more like I'm saying "I care for you and want to be with you, but only if you want the same", which I think fits more in the context of her life.
Yeah, this is what I thought. Choosing the jealous line makes it sort of seem like Shepard only sees it as a fling.
I always avoid the "who said anything about love" line, in exchange for the far superior (IMO) "It doesn't matter. What matters is how we feel".
Yeah, I'm really surprised the "who said anything about love?" line is the 'Paragon' option.
And the "So I can't admire your mind or body?"/"Actually I wouldn't mind if if you'd admire my body a little bit more." exchange floored me the first time. I hadn't realized I had backed into 'romance conversation' territory. It's kind of funny in a way...it's like Miranda was saing to Shep, "You know, I appreciate you helping me with my sister and everything, but in case you haven't noticed yet, I'm also completely hot. These chats of ours don't have to be just chats, you doofus." It's definitely more Renegade/"bad boy" to go straight for the kiss.
(Though everyone's right, that "Stop, smiling, damnit," is pretty endearing.)
